    I would say that N160 is good fit, it was actually designed for 6,5x55. The issue her is not the N160 powder, of that I am 100% sure. The best choice of Vithavouri powder for this cartridge and the heavier bullets would be N150

    Also her i Norway the 22lr-version of the Sauer 200STR (basically what in US is the SSG3000) is widely used in match shooting. Very precise, but being the same action as the full-caliber version it is a bit big.

    If chasing maximum loads-forget it. For more moderate loads, yes-it can be done. As an example I loaded my 35Whelen with 58grains of N150 with all lead core bullets of 225 and 250grains for close to 20years and a couple of thousands bullets. Brass/copper monometallbullets is a different game...
