    Thoughts on a 7X57 Rimmed

Post Script, I was able to match the factory Norma 156gr Ammo with a 44.5gr load of IMR 4350. Out of my rifle I was getting 2412FPS and the factory ammo was 2416fps.

    Thoughts on a 7X57 Rimmed

Sorry to jump in so late. I recently went through this same thing with my Sauer Drillings in 7x57r. I found that the Norma 160gr tipstrike, Oryx 156gr, and Hornady ELD-M 180gr bullets were the ticket. I found for "Long range work" 300 yards with my 1-4x Zeiss on this particular gun. The ELD-M...

Barnes 400 grain hollow pt. .416 rigby

I shoot the Barnes TSX 400gr and Woodleigh's at 450gr. out of my .416 Rigyb. They both perform exceptionally well. The TSX wouldn't be my first choice for elephant, but I wouldn't think twice about it in a pinch. They penetrate and expand flawlessly.

    460 Weatherby Magnum Scope

RIP your ears, but double up on ear pro with brake. But I would shoot it without a scope... If its bearable try Like Leupold VX6hd 1-6, Ziess V6 or V4, Swarovski i6 or i8. If its not sell it and get something else. I know Burris and Vortex have some long eye relieve scopes for slug guns you...

    Dove Hunt Argentina

They have some wonderful vinyards, you can always add on Red Stag or Water buffalo. Which is usually a good time.

    416 rigby or 416 remington?

I have taken my 416 Rigby on four trips to Africa. I love the round; it hits hard and shoots flat. (With a 200-yard zero, shooting 300 yards is pretty easy for a larger Plains game.) I have never had extraction issues; my only complaint is that the rifle is rather on the heavy side. After ten...

SOUTH AFRICA: Has Anyone Hunted With Bayete Group?

Hi Guys, I think the Statute of Limitations is up, but yes. Bayete got sideways, and then Covid Killed effectively them, from my understanding. I have worked with all of my clients to recover Trophies, but they pushed me out before it got bad… I lost about $50,000 in commissions and more from...

SOUTH AFRICA: Has Anyone Hunted With Bayete Group?

Hi Guys, They are a great group to work with. The experience was good enough that I started repping their hunts. (Full Disclosure) I am their dangerous game guy. So if you want to take this with a grain of salt feel free, but I am posting this as someone who has gone through the anxiety of...
