Namibia is hard to beat, but I think South Africa has to be my favorite.
Hunted
Namibia, South Africa (Timbavati, Eastern Cape, Kuduland in Northeast SA), Texas, Wyoming, Montana and Alberta
Species I have hunted in Africa
Kudu, Zebra, Warthog, Nyala, Oryx/Gemsbok, Blue/Black Wildebeest, Blesbok, Impala and Cape Buffalo. Sable, Roan, Waterbuck, Jackel, Golden Wildebeest, Hartmanns Zebra.
My best African Trophy
14+ year old buff taken in the Timbavate/Klasserie area of SA with my good friend Graham Sales.
My favorite African trophies
Very old Gold Medal bull Kudu that measured 57" and change in Namibia. Add Sable, Roan and Waterbuck to the list last September.
My preferred weapon(s)
My trusty .375 is my 'go to' weapon, but I have a soft spot for my .404 Jeffrey. Mostly one shot kills with either including my buffalo.
What weapon(s) do you hunt with?
Rifle
Shotgun
My preferred optic(s)
Zeiss
Occupation
Retired--Petroleum Engineer
Gear I cannot live without
Barnes 300 gr TTSX ammo for my .375! And of course the rifle as well.
My best hunting tip
Buffalo in 2016. Got to add South Africa with Graham Sales last year. Fantastic adventure with exceptional trophies. And my wife got to go along...big plus.
