He was right at 60 yards quartering to his left. Placement was perfect. All the practice shots were 80yrds. I'll try posting the bullet that was retrieved, perfect performance
You won't believe how much less recoil it has shooting off sticks. Before I left for South Africa in July I loaded and shot 200 rounds 458 Lott, 500 gr Barnes TSX with 75gr of TAC. Once I got to SA I was deadly with it. Dropped a bull buffalo. He ran 30 with a hole threw the heart.
I got worried when I first heard about monolithic soilds. Just got a new Ruger M77 Magnum in 458 Lott and bought 120 Barnes 500gr TSX-FB . I was thinking the barrel is made of hammer forged steel and the bullets are soft copper. Does not make sense to worry too much. I clean the bore with Bore...
I bought 120 Barnes TSX-FB bullets so I'm trying to stick with one bullet and get a reasonable fps and be able to hit off shooting sticks up 100 yards if possible. Going to Africa in July and wanna be ready. I've loaded 100s of 375 Ruger and 300 wm. Just started on this 458 lott and trying to...
Also the 375 Ruger is extremely versatile from 220 gr Nossler Accubon all the way to 350gr TSX. Im putting a MOA group at 200 yards all day. And if your using 270gr and 300gr loaded near Max they're grouping in the same group at 100 and 200
I called Barnes and got loading data from Allen. 300gr TSX 80gr H4350 2550 fps. You can call them and ask about anything. They're now my go to bullets from here on out. He gave me all the data for my 300wm and 458 lott. They are the best out they're IMHO
