What is it about 404 Jeffery?

Exactly! Thats what its all about is’nt it! At one time I had the opportunity and privelege to examine over some time an original Jeff 404 and a pre WW2 Rigby BG not just to admire them but to compare and maybe understand some of the over all design features from a competitive shooters wiev. To...

What is it about 404 Jeffery?

Sure a 23" barrel can work well on a ZKK602. It depends on the barrel profile of course and also stock configuration to a certain degree. Originally the ZKK602 have a long and fairly slim barrel. Cutting an original ZKK barrel down will affect recoil at least felt recoil and increase muzzle...

What is it about 404 Jeffery?

Reboring a ZKK 602 from 375H&H might be an excellent idea. ZKK 602 is a true Magnum sized action, very good quality steel barrel included, its all there BUT, I would reconsider shortening the barrel. An original 602, 375H&H with original straight classic stock should with its 25" barrel balance...

Wanted Brevex Mauser - any caliber

The rifle in question is apparently sold. Seller confirmed date of MFG to 1995 so you were right there and it raises some red flags at least for me. Excellent find with your Brevex No. 14.

Wanted Brevex Mauser - any caliber

What price are they asking? That rifle is a rare gem. As I`m sure you have noticed its a Brevex M400 with a thumb cut witch makes it a rarety. This rifle (if everything checks out) is obviously a genuine vintage Rigby Big Game with all the bells and whistles. Everything you will expect to find...

    Best reticle for africa

German #2 if I could choose (I have that reticle on a couple of my beaters) and fixed magnification 4x or less. Have also used different duplex variants in Africa that of course works very well. As for DG on the other hand its strightly open irons for me.

Which rifles run fastest for driven hunt

The DFS organisation is or at least was based on the idea of civilian preparedness so yeah, partially true. Military enlisted might participate in this discipline with their issued H&K 416`s. Its a kind of cool that regular bolt actions can stand up to military issue automatic rifles in terms...

Which rifles run fastest for driven hunt

Hi Steve Franz Albrecht might be using the same technique as we do over here in Scandinavia shooting the so called "Stangskyting DFS"discipline. There are several examples om youtube. I did shoot this discipline myself for a couple of seasons using a Kongsberg M98 Mauser with stripper clip, and...

Where to get a couple of rifles appraised?

Hi all 2 B better safe than sorry:) I just called my insurance company to check what they would accept as appraisal if I of some unfortunate reason had to deliver an insurance claim on a some things. About my rifles I was told they would eventually accept appraisal from a reputable auction firm...

    Wanted .416 Rigby Bolt Action

Ok. No chance your rifle is a milsurp. Your rifle is made in `57 right? Thats about when they started making those Brevex actions. The Brevex actions are made on the original Mauserwerke Oberndorf machinery transported to France after WWII. It could be that the first ones made are made "true" to...

    Wanted .416 Rigby Bolt Action

No thumb cut. I don`t think any of those Brevex actions have thumb cut. @John Telford here posted this one in another tread. I think Tony Sanches is bang on regarding the numbers produced. With regards to the small number produced its cool to see we actually have a few of them on this forum...

    Wanted .416 Rigby Bolt Action

I can`t comment too much about the prizing but, this Rigby is not entirely original. It has probably been re-stocked and also refinished at some point. This will of course affect the value. It is however a genuine Rigby with all the goodies exept the stock..the awesome Rigby barrel profile with...

    Rigby Mopani 450 Rigby Rifle

Yup, those gnarly pieces often looks great and can be very strong but they can also have structural weaknesses so we agree totally on that super dense and straight grain is the way to go. 450 Rigby can deal some serious punishment to the wood. I almost wonder if we can have rifles with stocks...
