  • Thanks again for your support on the Rhodesian Shotgun thread. From the amount of "LIKES" it received, it appears there was only ONE person who objected. Hes also the same one who continually insisted on interjecting his posts that werent relevant to the thread.

    Those are hard times

I liked your summary- especially coming from a technical investigation

I find it hard to revisit some of those memories
Small world - yes it is indeed sn 1200 - purchased it cheaply so no dramas on that - but will pass it to a gunsmith before it leaves England - big question does it shoot accurately

    It does shoot OK

New barrel on it with about 30 rnds only

I spent about £4000 on it

The Gun Smith who I commissioned to build it didn't do a very good job in the first place, then messed up the feed lips trying to get it to feed

i had the feed lips rewelded and refettled by another smith

He got it to the condition you now have it in

However I lost trust in it and binned it

I hunted elephant with Luke Samaris in 2005. It was my fourth safari and I tell you he is a fine gentleman the best. I got the opportunity to meet Patty Curtis, although never hunted with him but enjoyed our conversation around our tent in the Selous. Very sad for a tough guy to leave this world the way he did. Let’s pray the murderers are caught. I hope to see Luke in Nashville.
