As a word of caution to anyone visiting Africa, everywhere you go you'll see skinny sad looking dogs, sometimes their stray and sometimes they are not, but don't be tempted to pet or feed these sorry souls even if you are a big dog lover, avoid contact all together. In fact any interaction with animals that carry rabies can transmit it, it is not just through a bite, although it is the most common way it is transmitted.
