I did make the mistake of not sealing the laminated wood with multiple end grains areas so the oil finish darkened these parts more than the others but Darren was pleased so that was the main concern and I learned that this type of multi layer laminate stock needs a much different approach to finishing than a single wood or even the 3 to 5 layer laminate stocks I had been doing.
