Absolutely!! My wife and I have both taken them to the mountains in NW Namibia near Kamanjab in both 45-70 and 450 Marlin over the years. Multiple heads each of, springbok, gemsbok, mountain zebra, blue w/b and kudu. I even used my 450Marlin Guide Gun for the PH school I took in KZN in 2011. Outside of a semi-auto rifle, there is NOTHING faster for getting 3+ shots off then lever gun. A double rifle is great for the first two, but after that, it's the levers all the way baby!!
