YES, in fact, if you look closely at the picture you will see an orange bandana wrapped around this doe pronghorn's leg, just above her right front hoove.
It is protecting the DOE ANTELOPE tag (which had been signed,notched, and attached through her leg) from being blood stained or mutilated during the eviseration and skinning processes.
I had a fish and wildlife officer suggest this once years ago at a check station after struggling to read my bloody tag.

I had another DOE/FAWN ANTELOPE (type 6) tag and a buck tag (type 1) in my pocket as well as the DOE ANTELOPE tag that is hanging on the DOE ANTELOPE in the picture above.
