Not quite 50 years ago (May 1977), big game hunting was banned in Kenya until today. Kenya is the only country - with a good game population at the time - that has bowed to this pressure from radical NGOs.
But: buffalo can still be hunted today.
They are still plentiful in the traditional hunting countries.
Many African countries value sensible hunting laws and their implementation and do not allow European/American post-colonialists to spit in their soup and withstand this pressure. For the benefit of nature, the rural economy and the game population.
