I bought four sister rifles in 257 Weatherby, 300 WM, 375 H&H, and 416 RM. They were all custom shop orders and made in 2010-2011. They have never been fired and still in their boxes. The broker who is handling them said they came from the private collection of Weatherby's largest private customer....he's in his late 80's now and apparently was a friend of Roy Weatherby.
OMG, what a great story. You know you can have Weatherby give you a letter of authenticity and tell you really who they were sold to. Contact them, they are usually very good about answering e-mails. Not sure how this COVID crap is playing out for them. Congrats, and I hope you are getting one heck of a deal. Beautiful rifles.
Thanks a lot. I think the deal was very good personally. Not inexpensive but four rifles that will all travel to Africa over the next four years, I'll use for the rest of my days, then hand down to my son and/or grand kids.
Had to make a deal with my wife to clear out all the rest of my rifles, with the exception of a O/U 9.3x74R double rifle I recently picked up, in order to make this purchase. Some nice newer rifles going up on the classified section as soon as I get a change to get that done
Outstanding, love to hear stories like that! BTW, I still think I can be adopted . Please let me know how they shoot.
I know the feeling, I have a very understanding and supporting wife who let’s me buy Weatherbys, which I believe are addicting. I know you will enjoy those rifles
I have quite a bit of Weatherby rifles, from the 240 up to their new 6.5-300 Weatherby. Have several beautiful deluxe, but nothing like what you got
