Wow, very nice. If I didn't already have two 257s, I would have jumped all over it. LOL!!!! I like Weatherby rifles and calibers. Unfortunately the 340 is too much for me. My limit is the 300
This is also what I thought for years when I was shooting the 250 gr Nosler Partition. Moving to the 225 gr TTSX has been a revelation. Lowering ejecta weight by 10% lowers recoil by 20% all other factors remaining constant. Dropping the recoil by 20% has made a night & day difference with the big .340 Wby. It continues to drop game like the hammer of Thor, but it now only hammers on one end
Actually it drops game even better because the 225 gr TTSX mostly retains its weight through the entire penetration while the 250 gr NP typically lost its entire front core (40% of its weight) within the first few inches of penetration.
