Mine was in the mountains in the East Cape as well. Huntershill Safaris. PH Jason. He looked bigger than he was, but that happens sometimes. The hunt itself was fantastic.... my feet put on a LOT of hard miles!
The really crazy thing about my hunt was in the end I shot that Aoudad from 15 yards away Crazy set of circumstances but the wind was howling into our faces and it was one of the most incredible stalks of my life.. I had a 300 win mag as I expected to need to shoot upto 450 yards....
Wow! That is crazy! I had a shot at one the day before at under 20 yards, but our tracker stopped me. My PH had said to shoot, but then the tracker said no. He said that the other one we had seen was bigger. As it turns out the one I got the next day was smaller than both of them! But like I said, the hunt was amazing. The scenery was breathtaking, and the experience is something I'll remember for a lifetime. A week later another client came and wanted one. They ended up shooting a big one......... From about seven yards away. BUT it was a domesticated one. In a pen! Shot within two minutes of getting there. Not a hunt at all! I'll take mine or yours any day, thank you very much!
@Cam Moon absolutely, That is why I booked this hunt instead of going to Texas for a big ram.... I much prefer the big experience. Congratulations on your hunt and savor those memories
