Cape Fox

The omnivorous Cape or silver-backed fox is considered to be the only true fox (Vulpes chama) in Southern Africa. Due to their unusual teeth, the insect-eating bat-eared fox is considered to be a member of a subfamily of the canids, the Otocyoninae. But the discussion is still open.
