Canadian belt Knife by Grohman

My Canadian belt knife by Grohman. Flat grind carbon steel.
Just to clarify, I bought my knife at the factory when we were visiting Nova Scotia.

I like your carbon steel version, too.

I would have loved to have done that but my wife didn't want me buying it in Canada then carrying it to Ireland, England, France then back thru Canada home.
I did order it from the factory with a flat grind carbon blade and my name and year engraved on it.
I also have the cold steel copy but you can't beat the original.

It completed my set
Savage 110 introduced 1958
D.H. Russell belt knife 1958
And me born you guessed it 1958

You are a man after my own heart. Last weekend I bought a Winchester Model 50 semi-auto shotgun made in 1957 for the same reason. The stock needs refinishing but I can't deny that I might need a little touch-up myself after all these years.

I completely understand your reasoning. Lately I have had my shoulder reconstruction and a week ago I had to have my right ankle done after twisting it.
Problem is parts for the 50s models are getting harder to get and repairs to the old parts is bloody painful.
All we can hope is wake up each day.
I'm at the age I don't look at use by dates on products, I just hope to out last it .

This photo just popped on the main page. I have one from 1976 when visiting the factory. I was 16, my mom bought one for me and each of my older brothers. I've taken mine on both of my safaris and used it to do the initial incision on both of my buffalo. A special memory. John.
