Tootabi Hunting Safaris Get Together in North Dakota March 2015

And all these years I thought the old John Wayne western "Red River" was about North Dakota? Guess I learned something as well!

Thank you Bob for painting the picture of where I live to the other members. Fargo is a great place to live, for all the reasons that you stated, even in the bitter winter months. I do plan on bringing Loodt to Scheels and up to Cabelas in East Grand Forks and watch him burn up his credit card. In fact some of the guys coming to the party on Friday work in the Scheels gun shop and are good friends of mine.

The attached photo is of the Scheels gun shop and is less than half of the total gun area.

Wow could I spend some money there
Wow have I!

Ended up there the night after Obama got elected for his second term..... Joined the "Gun a Month Club" that night...

I've only made it up to the Cabela's in GF once in the past couple years... Underwhelming compared to the one in Rogers MN. The Rogers one is a lot bigger and has that Africa diorama including life size, well everything! Including elephant, buff, lions, sable, etc.

How far from Fargo to GF?

70 miles plus they have a Scheels there as well.

Here's some pics from the Cabelas in Ft.worth.

Gizmo, that display looks similar to the Cabelas in Rogers,MN. The East Grand Forks store has nothing like that.

Loodt was very specific that he wanted me to take him to Cabelas. Only thing he has asked to do actually. :)

I've been to cabelas and bass pros all over the place. Seems like the have similar displays in several locations.

.
Can't blame him for that. I make a point to go every time I am near one whether I've been there a hundred times or not. My wife makes me surrender my wallet to her at the door though.

Ya she gunna hafta get up awfully early in the mornin to out wit me if I decide I really want something. The problem arises when she figures it out after the fact.

After 16 years I've grown quite accustomed to sleeping on the couch.

When they really get pissed those big guns look a lot smaller, don't they?:A Outta:

The war of attrition called marriage. I am always in battle. It is all about wearing them down.

Roger that. I also have made sure she doesn't know the combos to the gun safes just in case she gets any ideas.

They want you to think that. Most days we are the mice and they are the cat. We just amuse them...

I think that Loodt is in for a surprise with the weather that we have been having in the frozen north.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
