That someone could miss high? What claims are you referring to?

There are a number of them claiming that the shooter was a trained professional, then in the same breath they are saying that the shooter wasn't highly trained such as ex military. Most of which is about the range at what the shot was taken.

Yea I mean there's no way to know until they catch the guy. He could have learned to shoot on his own a month ago or have had some training somewhere. Some inexperienced shooter aiming center mass and makes a lucky hit in the neck (not hard at 200 yards), or some trained shooter actually messes up the shot he wants but the bullet still makes a lethal hit (also possible at 200 yards).

Absolutely tragic.

My sister was really upset about it, she saw Charlie Kirk as someone in the mainstream who was a good role model for her 2 boys, it's getting harder and harder to come by mainstream political figures you can say that about, especially younger ones. My nephew probably would have been watching his clips in a couple more years. Hell Kirk probably could have ran for president at some point.

What a lot of people, especially those on the left, don't understand is that he truly was a moderate. There was nothing extremist about him. I'm certain his example of how to "do politics" played a role in many people still believing in the system, in debate, in the process of it all if you will. In all honesty the left is lucky he had the voice and platform he did, because there's a whole lot of young men who were already further to the right than him, and now that he's gone some young men who may have been at a Turning Point event, may now look elsewhere.

I for one am really not excited about the potential for an American version of the Years of Lead.

I am thinking back over the last 20 years at how many times public figures on the right have been the target of violence. I recall Steve Scalise being shot at a Congressional softball game. We all know that Trump was targeted twice. Now Charlie Kirk is butchered at the age of 31. Leftists? Not so much.

Then I think of how many leftists we’ve endured over the same period. There has not been a more controversial a President than BH Obama….yet he lives and breathes. And so he should, The point is, leftists have been indoctrinated to view people of different political stripes as dangerous. The crazed leftist fringe feels obligated to strike them down. A fring group of democrats in Congress can’t bring themselves to observe a moment of silence for a man killed for speaking his mind.

The left is now clearly the party of violence. Let’s not let them slip the noose. Let’s keep the light on them for everyone to see. Maybe then we can start to rebuild.

A person who is slightly familiar with a rifle and scope could take 3/4's of my rifles out of my safe and make that shot.

All my rifles are zeroed at 200 yards except for two of them and they are zeroed at 250 and 300 yards.

So knowing the democrats

It was my understanding that a moment of silence was observed. The problem was the audible prayer. I am not familiar with Kirk but I would of bowed my head for someone that been murdered. My question - Who is entitled to audible prayer by the house of Representatives? There are a lot great people that do not receive this honor.

Anyone whose name is offered up by any sitting member.

There is no rule on that. Any member of the house can pretty much request anything they want as long as the request isnt in violation of house rules…

The speaker can then decide what to do with that request..

You can ask for 5 minutes to do an Irish jig to demonstrate your appreciation of fine whiskey from the Emerald Isle.. the speaker will decide if the houses time is worth that or not.

No one is entitled to anything.

The more appropriate question would be why dozens of democrats chose to make a spectacle of such a request. If they didn’t want to pray, they weren’t being asked to personally participate.

They don’t even have to remain in the chamber if they want to leave for a few minutes.

Or they could politely state their dissent to the speaker and make a case for why the request shouldn’t be honored…

But instead, people that are clearly douchebags that we have elected into public office would prefer to demonstrate to the world their douchebaggery..

That is unfortunately what the far left has rescinded itself to.

I dont remember the house holding a prayer for the minnesota lawmakers that were gunned down in June. How should this be viewed?
Did someone call for a prayer for Minnesota lawmakers that was rejected? No , is the answer to that. Obviously you have different political views but trying to justify the abhorrent position taken by members of congress today into the murder of Charlie Kirk is pushing the envelope. As a Christian and Pro American patriot Charlie embodied what is good and foundational in the founding of our country. Liberalism is a disease, to promote statism over individual liberty, to champion the power of government over individual freedoms is anti free speech and anti American . The greatest threat to the left is the truth, Charlie embodied this and had to be silenced. Our nation was blessed for the years Charlie spoke and allowed those in opposing camps to speak also. A great voice has been silenced, but the truth shall overcome.

Nothing is more unhinged than an elder statesman of the radical left; this is the generation that gave us the……

Symbionese liberation army
Weather Underground
Militant Black Panthers
SDS
Red Guard
And an alphabet soup of others

I’ve conversed at length with some of these over educated and often generationally wealthy people while in Austin, Portland & Seattle and I can tell you they believe in “the cause” to the point of mental illness and in the next breath will brag about their real estate portfolio.

The hypocrisy of these people and the way they love to romanticize the acts they committed back in the day was genuinely frightening.

Charlie Kirk represented evil to these people….

A godly man with no formal education, shattering the generations long hold that leftist academia had held on the youth of America.
Could not agree more.

I was at a bank meeting this morning before the CK incident, we had a 60 something business woman go bananas and on the verge of raging, over Trump’s tariffs on coffee and convinced Trump was going to appoint himself head of the FED for life. At first we thought this was stupid and funny and then it turned serious. We damn near had to escort her out and call security. Keep in mind this is a highly educated and very high net worth individual.

These people are very unstable and are set off by very little.

Hopefully I can articulate this, but what I find sad is the Charlie was a believer in discussion, that we can have different viewpoints, that we can debate them, discuss them and though we might not agree or change the opinion of one another, we can still find some common ground. I didn't watch him regularly, but when I did I appreciated his approach of trying to find some baseline or layer to agree upon, he wasnt trying to do a gotcha type question, but rather build a base of some common ground.

I always believe that though there are fringe elements that get the most clicks or air play most people were good people and just had different viewpoints and the best way to understand that viewpoint was to have a discussion.

I am not sure if that belief was naive because today Charlie was killed because he wanted to have a discussion. People are willing to kill someone because they don't want to have a discussion, that we really are that polarized.

It really is a sad day, I am not sure what type of world we are leaving the next generation.

AT 180yds under stress this was a trained paid assassin to hit a 3" target at the precise moment I would say now the spin begins I didnt r

This is a ridiculous statement to make. 180 yard shot, while prone on a stationary target. 90% of the people on this website could do what you are suggesting, please don't fuel any conspiracies that this is somehow a professional job.

Well said.

My thoughts and prayers are with Charlie and his young family. Whenever elements in a society feel that words and discussions need to be answered with deadly force, is the time to purge those elements. I hope everyone involved with his murder will face the full force of Law. That includes all those making light of or mocking this event. All should be fired and their businesses and social media accounts doxxed.

Yes, let’s not fuel the paid political assassin BS.

Trained professionals do not aim at the neck arteries and spine.

They would aim either centered between the nipples. Or centered between the eyes.
The credit card size box at the bridge of the nose to eye brow and between the eyes.

So if a pro, he missed by 8” at 200ish yards.

More likely just another unhinged douche bag.

I see it in Europe for decades. The left is screaming at everything they see as not going with their narrative of being fascists.

The problem is then, is that everything goes further to the right. Because the lighter alternative is already branded as a fascist or Nazi and been taking out. In the end the left gets what they have been screaming about, real fascism because all the alternative means of change they destroyed one way or another. That is my analysis and why the population goes further to the right. Hopefully it doesn't end in fascism again but people are fed up. This is why revenge and retribution is a dangerous thing. You cannot control chaos.

This was the case all through 21st century European history. Look at Franco. He was the only solution to the rabid commies murdering nuns, priests and doing all sorts of perversity to their opponent. Afterwards they change history and now everybody thinks Franco was the bad guy.

They should be prosecuted for glorifying terrorism. Definitely in our countries that is possible with our laws. Do not know how that works in the US.

We have the 1. Amendment that protects freedom of speech. In your countries it is a bridge too far though, as you prosecute anyone that offends anyone else (e.g. misgendering a trans person, etc., etc.).

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
