UFO's? I thought the government always hid behind plausible deniability.

UFO's? I thought the government always hid behind plausible deniability.

Who knows. One fascinating part of UFO lore during the cold war is that Minuteman missile silos were brought down simultaneously. The testimony and folklore was that aliens didn't want us to cause WW3, etc.

I was reading some US government records that were released last year and it was profound disclosure. The US government was testing our silos for various EMI and other interferences (simulated solar flare / simulated nuclear fallout) with devices on the surfaces. Their machines that did these tests were successful, but they needed a cover story to explain what brought down the silo's operability to launch without letting the Russians know we had weaknesses. The Feds concocted the UFO cover story to explain away the surface experiment that deactivated the silo's operability.

True story. If I have more time I'll try to post the links to the now unclassified gov't reports of the test and the cover story.

More source and info:

A June 2025 Pentagon report, referencing findings from the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), offered a different explanation for the Malmstrom incident and the surrounding UFO stories.
  • The secret EMP test: The AARO report revealed that the missile malfunction was not caused by a UFO but by a secret test of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) device. The test was designed to see if U.S. nuclear silos could withstand a retaliatory strike, but it failed and disabled the missiles.
  • Cover-up to hide a weakness: To hide the test failure and the strategic vulnerability it exposed, officials chose not to tell the witnesses the truth. This allowed the more "otherworldly" explanation to take root, serving as a convenient cover story that distracted the public and foreign adversaries.
  • Distraction from other projects: The report also indicated that the government deliberately seeded other popular UFO myths, such as the Area 51 legend, to distract from its development of experimental aircraft.

The original agreement we negotiated in principal with Qatar in 1989 and which was formally implemented in 1992 (and amended several times since), is a military cooperation agreement as opposed to a mutual defense pact like NATO. Qatar is considered a Major Non-NATO Ally (MNNA) which is a status held by several nations including Israel.

The presence of our largest Middle East base at Al Udied carries with it the expectation to regional opponents that the US will defend its interests were Qatar threatened as it was by the recent Iranian missile launches.

Obviously, that relationship becomes hugely strained when it is another MNNA carrying out the attack.

The US may or may not have picked up the strike package. There seems to be some evidence that CENTCOM queried Israel. We maintain extensive coverage of the region through an array of sensor capabilities to include AWACS aircraft. Israel seems to have notified the administration or responded to query only when the weapons were launched. The US then apparently attempted to notify Qatar, but according to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, the warning came simultaneously with the attack.

I assume the Israelis planned notifications very carefully to insure they were technically made but there was no time for Qatar to warn the strike's target set.

I am intrigued by the technology. The blast damage is relatively light considering the munitions regularly used in Gaza. Yet, the whole HAMAS leadership team (5 individuals) and a Qatari security guard were eliminated without any collateral casualties. Whatever the munition was, it was relatively small and extremely accurate. The BBC reports 10 "bombs," which may have been something like our small diameter munition. However to drop those, the range would have been close enough for both the F-35's and the munitions themselves to have been seen by US air defense radar. An interesting little mystery.

Doesn’t Qatar have American air defense systems that should have picked up the attack. If so could Qatar have given Israel permission for the strike. Just curious.

I was too young to remember the Adolph Eichmann operation. The 1976 raid on Entebbe was the first I became aware of Israel’s cutzpah.

In the two years since Hamas attacked Israel and captured hostages, Israel has:

Taken out Hamas leadership in Gaza plus their replacements multiple times.

Taken out Hezbollah’s leadership.

Neutered Iran with a bit of American help.

Taken out Houthi and Yemen leadership.

Taken out Hamas leadership in Doha.

Love or hate Israel their intelligence, military ability and audacity is pretty amazing.

For whatever reason this post made me recall a conversation with a close friend some years ago. In the early 80s he was living and studying in Israel. One evening he went to the theater to see Apocalypse Now. He remarked what a surreal experience it was watching that film from the back of the theater and seeing the barrels of all the citizens’ Galil rifles highlighted by the light of the projector.

I don't believe this was an air strike. I also don't believe Israely acfts have the range without the assistance (US) of air refueling, and I also don't believe that Saudi Arabia, Jordan & Kuwait would have given them airspace clearance for the fighters to fly over those countries. This was most likely done with drones, or even an IED.

Charlie Kirk shot at Utah debate event by unhinged leftist.

I just saw a horrible video of that and it sickened me. It looks real bad.

And the bombings in Qatar I learned of this morning really bothered me. Unprecedented and a big overstep

This is One of the days I just wish I was in the bush and with my close friends hunting and enjoying nature.

Today feels heavy

Israel operates converted Boeing 707's as ariel refuelers (They also have 6 purpose built KC-34A tankers on order). They have a lot of recent experience using them to include the Strikes against Iran (about the same range as Doha) and Yemen (considerably farther). They would have topped off after takeoff over Israel and perhaps had a return refueling rendezvous point in international airspace over the Northern Persian Gulf.

One slight difference though. The most extreme right-wing idealogues want to be left alone, limited government, limited interference. The most extreme left-wing idealogues want centralized control at the tip of a gun barrel they wield.

In both cases, they want violence. The former wants to be left alone and feels they cannot be left alone, the latter wants to control the former to produce work value for their benefit.

No political violence is acceptable, but the side that wishes to control the other is worse.

There’s certainly a difference between the two ends of the political spectrum. The most heinous thing right wing agitators have done is storm the Capitol building. Despite the fake news, no one died as a result except one unfortunate protester. Left wing agitators are increasingly LETHAL. Two failed attempts on the Pesident’s life, one of which drew blood, and now this.

They operate an extensive Patriot PAC-3 array. The US operates two full batteries at Al Udeid. Both were employed effectively against the Iranian attack in June.

For a lot of stealth reasons, the F-35 using a stand-off munition presents a lot of challenges to point defense ADA systems. That said, it does raise a question or two doesn't it.

This radical leftism is a sickness

I saw some more videos on X I will not post them. But I an almost certain he will not survive this. It went through his neck and he lost a lot of blood and was instantly out.

This is what the left does. They did it with Pim Fortuyn in my own county and many others. No mercy for these scumbags.

The arrested shooter looks more like a middle class AARP card carrying retired boomer rather than ANTIFA.

It is being reported that he has died and people are scared of conservatives.

Looks to me the real threat is liberal loons.
Prayers to his family and I hope this guy rots in hell along with the murder in Charlotte and Auburn.
