We have many in Texas and for some reason a lot in Kansas. Many good friends.

One of my 21 SA PH's best friend came here to Canada as a temp worker, worked on farm machinery, John Deer mechanic specialist in SA. He is still here but now has his family also as residents. Seamed the temp farm immediately started process to residency after they saw his knowledge, abilities and skills.

My PH stated he also wanted to immigrate, I will inquire if he has seen the US policy and thought about it.

I recently hosted the South African PH that I hunted with last year. I asked him if he was interested in taking Trump up on his offer and he said thanks but no thanks.

You would be welcomed with "opened arms" in the SE United States, because we share the same values. (God, family, guns, ownership of private property, etc.).

The animals here aren't as exciting, but you can own an unlimited amount of firearms without ANY government oversight!

Nearly, absolute, freedom still exists in many rural areas of the USA.

Maybe it feels like home to them?? There were several properties on the Eastern Cape where I could have easily believed I was walking around western KS.

I highly doubt South Africans would enjoy six solid months of winter, but good Lord we could use their kind in Vermont as farmers, outdoorsmen, and gun lovers.

I could point the way to some available old dairy farms if any were interested.

And if any were keen to take a look around, they’d be welcome to visit our farm.

My PH's children are working in South Dakota on farms within 100 miles from me, and they like it very much. I'd enjoy the as new citizens, the US would be well served.

I know it would hard to anyone to leave their home country, and "normalcy bias" can be impossible for many people to overcome,

The mindset of the South African farmers would mesh almost perfectly with S.E. American farmers who are losing land to developers.

Large blocks of land could be protected from development, if there could be some type of alliance of farmers who would also use their land for both agriculture and hunting income. (Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky, South Carolina, etc.)

South African farmers would need to adapt, pretty quickly, to the expense, entrepreneurship, and technology used by American farmers, to make it work in the US.

I only know of one that came last year to Texas. I know multiple in SA who I’d be happy to sponsor or help along the away but they have insisted they are good where they are.

There was an old non pc Afrikaans saying which roughly translated would be: rather a king in a land of peasants than a peasant in a land of kings.

I believe the quality of life that most farmers enjoy in SA far exceeds what they would have in the US. The average US citizen is much wealthier than the average South African. But the average farmer in SA is much wealthier than their average countrymen and I believe much wealthier here than they would be in the US, relatively speaking.

I am sure there will be some who will take the opportunity on offer but I do not believe the mass exodus that a few have predicted on this side will take place.

In spite of our many challenges SA is still a very good place to live.

Maybe so, but for the kids the US offers a much better situation unless they are very well off in SA. And now that is in jeopardy.

Our church in Australia was almost 100% EX-SAF'ers.

I have met a few in America, but not heaps. There are actually quite a few here in Germany.

Trump has just announced a fast track to citizenship for RSA farmers! I don't know if I like this. We don't want RSA to become Zim. We need good people over there for the stability of the country. We all love Africa and want to see it get better!
That said I welcome anyone that loves hunting to the US!

My wife and I plus our two children moved from the Eastern Cape to Texas a little over 2 years ago. We came through on a skilled H1B visa and have settled in really well.
Although we had an incredible lifestyle and good hunting business back in South Africa, our main deciding factor was the future of our children.
I can honestly say, the people of Texas have been AMAZING at welcoming us, getting us settled in and are some of the friendliest and genuine people we have ever met. Including @Philip Glass who treated me to lunch
It certainly made the transition a lot smoother.

We have one on our little town. A local girl was over there on a church related mission and they met up. He’s a resident now I believe. Been here 6-8 years. Funny as Hell.
