Truck - what do you drive, and why?

I flip mine every 3 years once they are depreciated.. There are always guys at my dealership just waiting for those of us that trade low mileage Duramax trucks.. On average, my truck and 15k puts me in a new fully loaded Duramax..

When I stop buying company trucks I’ll stop flipping them every 3 years most likely… LOL

I am on my 3rd ram, the interior, price point, and performance are tough to beat in my opinion, if you test drive one it's over. I tow by 21 foot whaler outrage with no problems, the split tailgate, heads up display, and adaptive cruise control are features that are worth the extra $- and the same build in any other make of car is 25K more
2011 RAM 2500 Longhorn Diesel. Nothing beats grunt power and listening to BBC World Service at the same time. The Cummins Turbo is so strong. Problem with seals though.

Shame the Toyota Hilux isn't available in the US.

I'd stay away from the Cummins 2500/3500 RAMs from 2007 and onwards. They'll keep going for 1M miles, and you'll have to replace the kingpin and transmission at least once... but while all your buddies are upgrading their trucks, you'll feel bad yours is still going strong, and you don't have an excuse to trade it in.

When I escaped Kalifornia and came to TN, I rolled a 7x14’ extended height (6’6” box) twin axle for 2,000 miles. For giggles I also rolled the entire package, 1794 loaded to the hilt and the trailer onto a certified scale. 14,988# Total weight.

I average 8.0 mpg across the entire journey.

I was super glad to have the 38g tank on my Tundra.

Toyota Land Cruiser. I've had two a 2000 100 series and currently a 2018 200 series. It's the best built SUV on Earth IMHO.

I have a new model Toyota Tundra. I bought it because all my previous Toyotas were essentially problem free.
I would NOT buy a new Toyota Tundras, fuel line recall with only temporary fix available now, brake campaign, multiple broken seat side panels and the lists goes on.
I don't know what I would buy if doing it again.
Still driving an ‘07 Tundra…cause nothing goes wrong. If I were buying newish would go with the 2022 Tundra…5.7l V8. Also hearing some bugs with the newest model…but Toyota will get it ironed out in a year or two.

There is no 5.7 V8 in the current Tundra. I have that engine in my Lexus LX 570 and it is solid.
After just finishing the fuel line temporary fix recall and the brake campaign, I find out there is another.

We, my step-dad and I, could be wrong but we just seen earlier today in the parking lot of the restaurant we ate at, actually parked 2 spaces down from his Tundra, a Toyota Tundra with an emblem showing it has the 5.7 V8. It looked to be a year or two older than my step-dad's 2024.

The only engines in the current Tundras are the i-FORCE twin-turbo V6 engine and the hybrid version.

As I said we could be wrong. My step-dad said it was a Tundra, I couldn't see the make of the truck from the passenger seat only the small emblem plate 5.7 V8. And thought I would have to check out Toyota since I'm looking to trade my 2011 Ford Ranger in on a newer truck.

Thanks again for your support on the Rhodesian Shotgun thread. From the amount of "LIKES" it received, it appears there was only ONE person who objected. Hes also the same one who continually insisted on interjecting his posts that werent relevant to the thread.
