I am restoring a winchester M70 post 64 in .458 wm. I send it to full re-bluing and now I will continue with the wood, but before doing a refinish I would like to know if there is any oil to bring the stock back to life or if it is necessary to redo everything, thanks for your help.

South Africa animals not contained by high fence

I just got back from South Africa, it's amazing the amount of cattle and farmland outside the hunting areas there is nothing left. but do not think that because it is a high fence you are hunting cows, those animals are as wild as any I was not able to hunt an impala (and I saw hundreds) but I...

    How dangerous is dangerous hunting?

when I started this post I never thought it would be so controversial, and I take a totally different path than I had thought. I am a new hunter and I still have a lot to learn but I am sure that the only thing we do not need is to divide ourselves, we are already 1% of the hunters vs all the...

    How dangerous is dangerous hunting?

I also share the idea that a hunt on foot is more exciting and feels more real than hunting a lion on bait like a whitetail deer on corn. I personally have no problem hunting on high fences since there are no public lands in Mexico and most ranches are fenced. Reading your comments just...

    How dangerous is dangerous hunting?

I think several are very right, and as clients if we do our part the hunt will go smoothly, I am very excited about my first trip to Africa and I am preparing the best I can. I know that many do not agree with the lion hunt in SA but it is what I can pay at this time and if in the future my...

    How dangerous is dangerous hunting?

I have a lion safari in a few months and I was wondering how dangerous a dangerous hunt really is, are there any statistics or proportion of people injured or killed per year?

    Potential US Expat

mexico is a great option, it's not gun friendly but you can have some decent options, a .380 pistol, 38 special revolver, a shotgun or an ar15 our law is a joke you can't have a 9mm but you can have an ar15 with the barrel so small as you like

    My first Dangerous Game rifle

Thanks for the tip but if it doesn't work I'll do a complete rebluing, I don't think I'll use a scope at the moment I like it classic like that with open sights. Very rarely do the government store carry these calibers, but you can get them if you are willing to pay 2-3 times the US price.

    My first Dangerous Game rifle

You guys are very lucky, and so am I to find this rifle since there aren't many out there in Mexico. this rifle has already hunted elephant, buffalo and hippo so I'm sure it will be up to the task, I just need a lot of practice already ordered some snap caps to start practicing

    My first Dangerous Game rifle

And the problem is not that there is only one store, the problem is that you have to gather tons of paperwork, anti-doping, psychological studies, proof of income, etc. and then wait 6-8 months for them to approve your permit and with your permission you can buy up to 3 weapons in different...

    My first Dangerous Game rifle

I was finally able to buy a rifle in a caliber suitable for dangerous hunting, it is an M70 .458 win mag but it is not CRF and the rifle needs some love but it is an interesting project. I know that many are not in favor of a post 64 M70 but in my country (Mexico) it is simply impossible to...
