Don't dismiss Cheddite primers if you can find some. I split an order of 5,000 with a buddy and both of us have had good luck with them. No misfires or other problems. I'm about out of mine, and my buddy has already shot all of his. I'll buy more if they become available.

I use the Barnes 270 Gr. TSX in my 375 H&H. It's my do everything load. Will handle anything from a Duiker to a Cape Buffalo. Less recoil than the 300 gr. bullet and shoots tiny groups in my rifle.

I've killed quite a few plains game animals in Africa with my .270 shooting 150 Gr. Nosler Partitions. I even shot an Eland with that combination. That Eland didn't go any further after the shot then the ones I shot with my .338 win. mag or my 375 H&H.

I've used my .270 on numerous plains game animals from Impala to Eland. No problems with the 150 Gr. Nosler Partition. I've shot a total of six Eland on various hunts. Only shot one with the .270 but that Eland went down just as quick as those shot with my .338 Win.

What is the size of the area where the buffalo will be hunted?

I sold one like yours several years ago, before gun prices went crazy, for $800. Your gun is certainly worth more than that now. I'd recommend that you have that crack professionally repaired. That will help if you plan to shoot it or for future sales.
