JAPAN: Has Anyone Hunted With Eric Rose In Japan For Sika?

He pretty much focuses on Aussie and Kiwi hunters. So hard to get a good 8 point Sika in NZ unless its in a glorified Pen. There are a couple of execeptions. Ngamatea and Poronui Station are free range private land stations in NZ but you will pay for a hunt there. Japan is still the best bet...

AUSTRALIA: Back Country Hunt - NT Australia

To be fair, i have had no issues flying into the NT with Firearms as a QLD resident and did it regularly before i settled in the NT. The airlines are only interested in the fact that you have a gun licence and and thats it. Sounds like a different scenario for overseas visitors

DIY Australia?? Is it possible for an American?

I recon your best bet if you want to hunt a Buffalo is to befriend an NT resident that can offer to take you on a hunt. It would be even better if you could reciprocate to that hunter with an equal quality hunt in the US. Something like we can't hunt here like a White Tail buck or Javalina...

Tropical Hunting for Buffalo and Pigs In the NT 2023

The Late Dry Season in the Northern Territory always signals the peak of the local hunting season for me. This is the time when the head high spear grass has been burnt off, a lot of the ground water has dried up and the relative high temperatures and humidity drive the animals towards remaining...

Water Buffalo Hunting On A Budget

There are scrub bulls available for the Back County Hunts which are a NT Govt Initiative. In order to get on those hunts you just need to go with an NT resident. BCH are only $25 a day. My friend and I both shot a nice scrub bull on the same day on one of these hunts.

They are physically quite a big bigger than Cape Buffalo, but generally not aggressive. They are curious though and will eye ball you for ages, which unsettles a lot of people.

Global Rescue - Worldwide Emergency Evacuation & Field Rescue, Anytime Anywhere

    Water buffalo caliber recommendation

June to Late August is the Dry season and the most comfortable time to be hunting in the NT, however September to Early October (before the first rains ) is the easiest period to find Buffalo as they will be concentrated around any remaining water. I'ts just very hot and humid during this period.

JAPAN: Has Anyone Hunted With Eric Rose In Japan For Sika?

Yes I did it back in roughly 2017 with Eric, came home with two nice Stags. Pretty much the biggest Sika in the world and genuine wild models also

So using a heavier caliber is how you compensate for your Buck Fever aye? Iv'e heard it all now. I suggest if you are afflicted that badly then perhaps you shouldn't be hunting until you have that under control. I wasn't screaming it from the hilltops, I was just suggesting if you have a 30/06...

How many here are bowhunters only?

Aside from the PSE carbon bow I recon bows in general have been getting heavier and more complex for not much net gain. The best period was around 2017 and it's been down hill ever since IMO.

When i moved to Australia from NZ I did about 10 years of Bow Hunting only. I have slowly moved back to rifle hunting since I have started doing Expensive overseas and Guided Hunts. 4K for a budget hunt up to more than 10K in Arnhem Land and depends on the duration and location. The Station hunts tend to be cheaper because partly they are easier to access than Arnhem Land and you are not paying for NLC permits

    Water buffalo caliber recommendation

I have never hunted Cape Buffalo, it's a hunt that is not my cup of tea. However I have had close encounters with them on the property where i have done Plains Game hunting. I'm going to go against the grain here and say this: I live in Darwin and have shot 20 odd Buffalo. Though bigger than Cape Buffalo they are much less cantankerous. I forgot to add that the area we are going to is called Pik Dankova The cost of the hunt is around $6,000 US which is more like $10,000 Australia.
