He pretty much focuses on Aussie and Kiwi hunters. So hard to get a good 8 point Sika in NZ unless its in a glorified Pen. There are a couple of execeptions. Ngamatea and Poronui Station are free range private land stations in NZ but you will pay for a hunt there. Japan is still the best bet...

To be fair, i have had no issues flying into the NT with Firearms as a QLD resident and did it regularly before i settled in the NT. The airlines are only interested in the fact that you have a gun licence and and thats it. Sounds like a different scenario for overseas visitors

I recon your best bet if you want to hunt a Buffalo is to befriend an NT resident that can offer to take you on a hunt. It would be even better if you could reciprocate to that hunter with an equal quality hunt in the US. Something like we can't hunt here like a White Tail buck or Javalina...

You might be ok if you just took your time and stayed hydrated with cold drinks. Having a comfortable camp to return to with fresh food makes a difference as well..

There are scrub bulls available for the Back County Hunts which are a NT Govt Initiative. In order to get on those hunts you just need to go with an NT resident. BCH are only $25 a day. My friend and I both shot a nice scrub bull on the same day on one of these hunts.

I hunted up the Hopkins valley with Peter around 2017. We saw some good bulls and a few Chamois and Deer also

They are physically quite a big bigger than Cape Buffalo, but generally not aggressive. They are curious though and will eye ball you for ages, which unsettles a lot of people.

Krgyzstan is a very very corrupt country and anything can happen. You would have to be crazy to go there on a Hunting Safari without at the very least travel Insurance. I'll be using Global Rescue next time I go there for sure...

June to Late August is the Dry season and the most comfortable time to be hunting in the NT, however September to Early October (before the first rains ) is the easiest period to find Buffalo as they will be concentrated around any remaining water. I'ts just very hot and humid during this period.

I have never used a Whelen but Sambar Hunters swear by them in Victoria. Id say with decent projectiles it would suffice. As always shot placement is much more important than Caliber alone, in my view....

Aside from the PSE carbon bow I recon bows in general have been getting heavier and more complex for not much net gain. The best period was around 2017 and it's been down hill ever since IMO.
