I bought one and did well on it's first hunt. However I recommend replacing the recoil pad.

I have a Savage 116 Safari Express in 375 H&H. I jammed it on my second shot on a Brown bear. Used to have a Savage (forget the model) in 30'06 and jammed it shooting at a yote. All my Savage fan friends swear by them. Maybe it is me . I'd go with a Ruger or Remington.

My advice is a thick recoil pad. Helps a lot. I can shoot my 375 H&H and 375 Ruger with no issues. Seems no worse than 12 gauge with 3.5 inch 00 buckshot.

They saved my day! Delta in Jacksonville decided to not load my rifled on the plane. Showed the gate agent my rifles were still up front, he did everything in his power to get them on the plane. Well worth the money!
