I need Blue Dot... It hasn't been available for a long time and I'm not holding my breath. Sadly, as far as I know, there is no suitable substitute. I contacted Alliant and was told they would be making more in the future. Thankfully black powder is still available.

The 550 was such a nice gun for the money. My first DG rifle was a 550 in 375 H&H. They really need to bring it back!

If the gun still counts as a pre-68... It seems legal. But my knowledge of gun laws is pretty limited. Likely it would be up to someone's FFL. Did you get a chance to weigh the rifle?

I didn't wear sunscreen. I covered as much skin as possible with only my fingers and around my eyes exposed. Then again I come from a part of the USA that gets almost no sun... So I'm basically an albino most of the year.

Why not cast your own? With pistol bullets it will be easy and inexpensive. You can buy pre-mixed alloys to insure proper hardness for hunting.
