It’s a shame the pith helmet is so derided. I mean, a light, solid material to block the sun, that does not transfer heat like thin material, and that sits off your head to allow airflow…not a bad design…

I flew through Dulles once using a bag that had been used as a range bag while shooting clay pigeons. The lady rubbed the cloth all around it, put it in the machine - positive for explosives!

Yup. Meateater’s goal is to be a 100 million dollar company. They are heavily financed by The Chernin Group - essentially they are getting people interested in the outdoors to sell them stuff. That is a far cry from when rinella wrote his first book.

I have long been against the 'as long as its legal' trope. You carry your ethics with you - and ethics should always be well above the law.
The law dictates the lowest acceptable form of behaviour, not the highest form of ethical behaviour. We should always be concerned with the latter...
My understanding is Makris, via his advertising agency and the NRA were simply passing money back and forth and having a good time on everyone else's dime.
