Hadn’t done a video in eight or nine years, and this one isn’t thrilling, but the occasion was special to me. It’s the last time a handgun will arrive in the mail here in my country, in all likelihood, and I wanted to capture what I chose and why.

Here’s my last handgun.

We’ve got the same problem up here, no good choices either side of the aisle.

I just keep the perspective, there are definitely inconveniences, but I’ve travelled to and worked in places with actual problems.

There’s a lot of healthy distraction in the north, as close to unlimited hunting and job opportunity as this planet has, so much empty wildnerness you can empty a Cessna’s tanks many times without changing direction. So I can stomach hits like this one.

I try not to get too worked up about what I can’t immediately control, and just live and roll with it. Overall, this is the place for a guy like me, and I remain smitten with Canada. Inconveniences and all.

Even when all major parties are anti-gun, I'm a strong believer in voting out the Party in power when such measures are introduced. The opposition mightn't be any better, but at least they then know there's a cost. Unfortunately, too many people are rusted on to "their" party irrespective of what that party actually does.

ps. With the new Canadian laws are you able to leave and return to Canada, whether for a hunting trip or a competition, bringing your handgun, or will it be seized on re-entry?

Proper view of a proper little gun.

As for going abroad with handguns from Canada, nothing has changed. We can keep the ones we have, we just can’t acquire more. For now.

Those are nice guns, you will be amazed at how well it shoots. Sorry its the last one you can buy, hopefully that will change in the not too distant future.

I congratulate you on a beautiful classic smith, I love mine! I wouldn’t have been able to make that video though, I would have been sobbing and kicking my feet on the floor! I get emotional when I know it is the last handgun I’m going to get that month!
Enjoy your masterpiece

Congratulations, but you're living in a place that's going to have actual problems soon enough. If we don't get our socialist treason problem in check we'll be next in line.

The only problem a guy like me can face is a lack of wilderness and space, opportunity and security for my family; the rest are inconveniences. Fortunately all that abounds here. And really, I can’t get upset about being born in the west, and Canada in particular. I never have to worry where my next meal will come from or if my kids are safe at school, and there’s expansive wilderness 20 mins away in the bushplane. Those to me are the greatest freedoms and make the inconveniences easily forgettable. We’re blessed with opportunity in this part of the world, that the vast majority on this planet will never have. To bemoan all what we have and enjoy for the inconveniences or politics feels wrong to this guy.

And once you’re in the wilderness politics is quite meaningless until you return to “civilization”. My answer to any political irritations is just get outside and go use the incredible freedom we enjoy in this side of the world. A handgun while I clearly enjoy them doesn’t define my understanding of freedom, to me. True freedom comes from a much bigger place, and too much concern with politics or a cable connection just detract from my enjoyment of life frankly, so I happily avoid both.

And I’d say this doesn’t mean don’t fight it or resist unwelcome change; just that I keep a broad perspective on that which I cannot immediately control.

Congratulations on a fine revolver. The day I was born, my Dad picked up a S&W M-17 he had on layaway at a local hardware store and put it in the cradle with me. I still have it and have killed truckloads of small game with it.

Safe shooting

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?
