I know that you can not really do a Kudu with a shoulder mount but what about Sable or Nyala In a room with 8’ ceilings? I’m out of room for floor pedestals am I’m limited by my ceiling heights. Thanks for any input.

Does anyone know what plains game has a hide thick or stiff enough to have them made into a pair of custom boots? Also thinking I might save some hides for a leather jacket if anybody has done that as well. Thanks, Jaye

June 7th I’m flying Qatar Houston to Doha then on to Johannesburg. I had the early 3:00 arrival in Johannesburg as well which also got pushed to 9:50 am, so I went from a nice short layover in Doha to about a 9 1/2 hr. Layover.

This will be a hunting rifle. I don’t like safe queens. That said I will only take it afield when I know the skies will be clear.

Rifle has been received and you guys let me steal this one. The pictures do not do this rifle justice. It is beautiful and action is smooth and tight.

We do or own as well. We we’re just doing steak, burger and stew meat but finally bought a sausage stuffer a few years ago and started making our own smoked sausage and deer sticks. Last year I did ground deer bacon for the first time and it turned out great.

Yes, I’m using them now loaded with a 300 gr TSX and 47 grains of the Accurate 5744 as a low recoil practice load. I started with 37 grains and worked my way up.

My current set up in the R8 is 375 H&H, 300 Wby and 22 hornet And I would not hesitate to take this set anywhere in the world. If I add another barrel it would be the 6.5x55.

I would also look at the 6.5x55 or 7mm-08. Great rounds for what your wanting to do but with very mild recoil and I think they would give you just a little more capability if you did need it sometime in the future.

I’ve thought about the 257 Wby or the 270 WSM but I have a soft spot for the 6.5x55. It’s been one of my favorite calibers for over 30 years, that along with the 35 Whelen and 300 Wby.
