Just an FYI, you probably already know, but C Sharps is the next block North on Centennial drive from Shiloh Sharps. If you’re stopping, check out both.

The length at the end is basically like a sun shade. It just spreads out the length on longer barreled guns.you can remove the front sight dovetail and extend it to the end, with a longer extension

    Show your Sharps!

There’s something very nostalgic about shooting Buffalo guns, Lever guns and Single action revolvers. Hunting with them too. Also have similar caliber lever guns and many 1885 designs ( no Italians) in all the “Sharps Rifle Calibers”. A repeating 50-110 Lever gun, gets your attention, but...

    Show your Sharps!

Here’s a couple 1874 sharps. A 45-70, 30” Long Shiloh Sharps, and a 45-110, 34” C Sharps. I use them when hunting in Canada and cannot handgun hunt.

    Any 41 magnum shooters?

I hunt regularly with a 10” scoped Freedom arms FA83 and 5” custom 5 shot Ruger Bisley. Loaded with hand loads and heavy bullets, it is much more effective than you would think. The 41 FA along with one in 475L are going with me on the HHI handgun hunt next year

    My wife's metalized Nyala

I have a buddy that has family that owned a chrome plating shop. He did a complete springbok head and horns in nickle chrome. It looked pretty good, I like copper or something similar

    My wife's metalized Nyala

Is it done like they do to coat plastic car parts with metal? a spray on metallic primer, then charge it electrically to bronze, copper, brass etc coat it. Even a painted on surface coating would look good.

    Need advice: pistols and tripods

It’s the lightest tripod I’ve used, that has lock down legs for height, not the twist to tighten legs. Twist legs will collapse with light pressure. The head pops off on one pin, (switcharoo setup) so you can carry a spotting scope on a mount and switch easily. It is an extremely stable platform...

    Need advice: pistols and tripods

I have a Big pod rest on an adrenaline tripod, with a one hand trigger camera mount for adjustment. It is a fantastic shooting platform, set up for me, mainly shooting scoped revolvers.

    SCI Estimate

ANY and EVERY animal is a trophy, and great memory of an enjoyable hunt. I like to know the quality of the animals I have chosen, as compared to what’s out there. The score is just a way to look at the whole spectrum of animals and representation of their sizes.

Just a quick follow up, I have an appointment to drive out to Sea-Tac Thursday morning, to collect my crate. Unfortunately, Turkish Air added a wonderful surprise “storage fee” of $870. Not that there’s anything I can do about it. The good news is it’s arrived, all cleared, and ready to pick up.

    2023 SCI Convention in Nashville

I agree with you on costs. Taxidermy and shipping is the biggest expense of a safari. I’ve got a great variety already, I’ll be looking for some fun cull hunts, where I don’t have a need for taxidermy and related costs. That will create 2X as many hunts. Still waiting for my crate to ship...

I generally have one longer barreled hunting revolver with a full brake, and a shorter barreled belt gun in the same caliber, for each hunting caliber I use. Some handgun hunts

There was a 1 pound one ounce difference in my original Encore to my newer G2 complete gun. To me at least, that makes a huge difference on a moving target. Neither are heavy, especially compared to a rifle.

    Some handgun hunts

Yes it is. The best thing is it’s on a G2 frame, not an Encore, so I can swing and shoot off hand with it. I used a 375JDJ for years, but sftee looking at thie 378GNR, had to give it a try. Jdj is on a 444 brass, GNR is on a 405 case, so I get 250-400FPS more out of the same size gun. That makes...
