    Delta from Atlanta to Joberg

I fly delta from Atlanta to Joburg several times/year. If first class (delta one) is out, I'd choose comfort plus....middle or right side of plane...bulkhead ! Left side of plane, the aisle from comfort select (not worth the extra money....tried it once) runs into the aisle seat bulkhead in...

    overnight in jburg

City Lodge. Convenient, decent food and accomodations. Works well for being in the airport for pickups or flights in and out. I've stayed other places which are more "African," but for convenience, can't beat City Lodge. Signs in airport direct you to them.

recommendation for a family hunt (South Africa)

I know there are lots of really good hunting lodges. I have hunted with several and highly recommend Limcroma Safaris. They not only work well with children, but have options of visiting: elephant encounter, cat encounter (lions, cheetahs, etc), visiting an orphanage or school that they...

    Flights

First time to Africa, looking for help

I like Limcroma Safaris. Limpopo. South Africa. Couple things....prices are often negotiable with the safari owner, so specials on line may not be better than what you can set up . Negotiate . I think it's very important to find an outfitter not only with great reviews but that has a...

SOUTH AFRICA: Limcroma Safaris... One Of The Best

@Limcroma Safaris once again was superlative...even on a tough November hunt. Although we had thickening foliage, increasing rain and heat, and very spooky animals, we had one of our best hunts ever. Limcroma's accommodations, food, PH's, and attention to detail remain top notch...

    Hi from fla

Late Season Hunt Special With Limcroma Safaris 2021

Returned a couple weeks ago from Limcroma. Awesome hunting, people , and lodging. I'm going back later this year. I wanted a 45" plus sable. I was informed that they are as rare as hens' teeth. See following photo. 46 inches. Beautiful animal. Thank you Limcroma

I'd be sure, also, that the lodge has it's own PH's,... not renta-PH's.

South Africa Moves to Level 4 Restrictions - Effective June 28, 2021

FYI while we are all different, I can relate this My buddy and I just returned from a hunt in Limpopo. We road in a car for 3 1/2hours with a SA friend who took us to our work site with rhinos.....followed 2 weeks later by a 1 week hunt. My driver friend went into respiratory distress and...

SOUTH AFRICA: Limcroma Safaris The Best Outfitter I've Hunted With

The covid testing was easy. Limcroma picks you up at the airport or hotel....takes you straight to the lodge. Contact with very few people. One or two days before your return trip, Limcroma has you spit in a tube. They send it out and your results are back in 24 hours. No missed hunting...

SOUTH AFRICA: Limcroma Safaris The Best Outfitter I've Hunted With

I just returned from a one week hunt with Limcroma Safaris in South Africa. Everything was absolutely outstanding. They have an excellent group of PH's (not rent-a PH's), superb facilities, and great game management practices. They took care of us (my buddy, Ken and myself) concerning every...

    Has Africa changed?

Excellent info, Pascal. Most people who have never been to Africa think that AFRICA is one place and that it is wild and full of animals. Most of sub-Sahara Africa's wildlife is managed to some degree. Still fascinating and exciting to visit or work in. Don't wait if you get an...

SANParks to cull 2,600 animals, says 'disguised trophy hunting' not allowed

FYI......I've hunted all my life (I'm 70). While some of my hunting white tail deer was group hunting (more social), I much prefer scouting, hunting and taking an animal solo...enjoying the chase and nature. Some of us seem to enjoy the kill....others, the hunt. BUT.....what I hear from...

Why We Should All Be A Professional Hunter

I love "Africa." I love hunting and doing conservation work. But, my personal challenge is this. Most likely those of us that hunt in Africa are probably older...so we have some money and are no longer tied to a job or raising kids. We've probably hunted most of our lives and have been...

    Choosing a Hunting Outfitter

One other thought.....I hunt in Africa....usually about 1 week while I'm there (my non-hunting wife loves it, too) We usually mix that week in with our 2 months of working with wildlife and wildlife professionals on a volunteer basis. If you are interested in not only having the experience...

    Choosing a Hunting Outfitter

From a past negative experience, I'd be sure the safari lodge has it's own "stable" of PH's and does not use "renta-PH's. This will help to ensure the guy you spend time with chasing game is good not only at hunting, but dealing with people....or hopefully he'd be gone.

    Camera or I-Phone?

Cell phones are fine for occasional shots but will not provide good enough quality for wall blowups. I have worked and hunted many years in Africa with wildlife and continue to upgrade my camera....longer range with better sensors. I've seen too many people try to shoot an iphone through...

Sides Of A Horn | Short Film (2019)
