I have been lurking for a while but I am finally ready to pull the trigger on a Africa trip. I have a group of definitely 5 and maybe 6 hunters, one being my 13 year old son. We have hunted all over North America together but this will be the the first Africa trip for any of us. We are interested in plains game for this first go round, kudu, eland, gemsbuck, oryx, blue and black wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, zebra and warthog just to name a few. My son loves fishing so that would be a plus. We are looking to go in 2025 sometime during June, July or August when my sone is on summer break. I'm actually looking forward to the hours of research and planning. Thank you for putting together this great research tool and I appreciate all the knowledge that is shared on this site.

Welcome to AH! Last time I was in NC was for a black bear in Hyde County. Originally and east coast boy to begin with but have been out west for quite awhile now. I'd forgotten how beautiful it was in NC.

If you have any questions regarding @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS, please let me know. Our areas in South Africa can accommodate your group and the animals you listed.

Welcome to AH

Welcome to the posting side.
Have a look at all the sponsors and compare what you are looking for.
Start in the top bar ads and go from there.
Enjoy.

Welcome! Certainly glad to have you here with us. What part of NC are you from?

:S Welcome:

I Love your wish list, still had room to expand as Africa offers up some other options! Welcome to the site, enjoy the research part

Nothing better than planning that first Safari! You all are going to love Africa. Thats a great wish list of species, lots of good outffiters across SA and Namibia that could square you away on a good safari with some options to add some fishing.

Welcome to AH Greylin! Enjoy exploring the site.

I used to be a bear guide in Hyde, I have crawled many a mile thru bear tunnels chasing packs of hounds. I will definitely research JKO, thanks.

Thank you, I've already started looking at the sponsors, the problem is they all look amazing!

Welcome! If a may do any suggestions, here it my opinion.
For a first Africa experience and specially for plains game and large group of hunters i would definitely check only South Africa for fenced hunt and Namibia for free range.
These 2 options are the ones that will offer the best accommodations and lowest prices (with big difference).
IMO I think that if you go to Africa from the USA for plains game, the best option is Namibia given that for a fenced hunt you can get in Texas for almost the same price and without the need to travel overseas… and the vegetation is incredibly similar in certain areas.

I live right outside Pilot Mountain. Born and bred in the foothills.
Oh that's a lovely area, I live in Maryland, have a condo in downtown historic Wilmington. Good luck planning your first African safari!!

I am heavily leaning toward Namibia at the moment. I spent last night watching hours of safari videos and Namibia is on top of the list.
There is a new sponsor on the forum offering a great deal in Namibia. Is among the latest posted offers, so should be able to find

Hi @Greylin

I can most definitely accommodate your group
I've send you a PM

Cheers
Dieter

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel
