Maybe this is the rifle I need to use as I get older !

For 225 gr pills, you've got quite a few choices with BC north of .45, and that's what it'll take to reach 250 with enough speed for expansion and with enough energy to put through an elk. For the lighter ones, what you gain in speed you give up in BC and still end up with about the same max...

Always wanted a 338 Federal. Nice thing about 225 gr pills at 2400 fps is that's still in the wheelhouse of reliability for non-premium pills.

    458 winchester or lott ?

In for a penny, in for a pound. If you roll your own, you can always dial 458 Lott back to 458 WM loads, but you can't push 458 WM loads to 458 Lott levels.

Safari Rifle Market-Have we reached the point of no return on cost?

Got the missus a 375 H&H Ruger #1 when we got back from our safari last year, we're both lefties. "But I wanted a magazine rifle..." She doesn't understand how difficult and expensive it is to buy LH DG rifles. If somebody gave me a Ruger #1 in something like 450-400 or 458 or 416, I'd feel...

    the future of AI

LLMs...I'm still not terribly impressed with. Furthermore, they're far too easily poisoned. I had posited with colleagues a year or so ago I thought it would take a massive effort to poison the data. Some research surfaced this past summer it isn't as much of a heavy lift as I had presumed it...

Gold and silver are money because everyone who lives in other than a barter economy will ultimately trade goods/services for them. Literally everybody.

    the future of AI

Interesting take, and it's more or less the same as most prognosticators.
