Would have some interest but a couple of questions first:
Could these be done as flat-tops? Would reduce cost some and then everyone could inlet to precise specs. Fill weight, LOP, etc, could all be uniform.
Any paint or finish options?
The only "new" dangerous game cartridge I can recall is the 10.3x68 Magnum that RWS introduced about five or six years ago. It was not designed solely with DG in mind, RWS viewed it as a modern 10.3mm (.413") for those cantons in Switzerland where this is the minimum caliber allowed for hunting.
Might be a long-shot but any chance you could get a hold of RWS ammunition or brass?
Lapua (ammunition and components), North Fork bullets, and upper-end Sellier & Bellot ammunition (Exergy lines) are other products that come to mind.
Wayne,
Is there a chance you would have any Tsessebe on quota in this area?
If you do, would you mind my asking what the trophy fee would be in 2023?
Thanks.
Cutting Edge offers 200 grain and 210 grain Raptors in 9.3. Hammer Bullets has a 240 grain mono-metallic (copper).
The CEB bullets are interesting to me as I just picked up a really nice Huskie 146 chambered in 9.3x57 and feel those weights would lend some versatility to the shorter case...
Love that there is another option of getting to Africa directly from the U.S.
One thing that sticks out is the arrival time in Cape Town - 6:00 PM. That likely means you will need to overnight there before connecting to other destinations, even within RSA. Wonder if that would complicate...
Wayne,
Very appealing offer.
Any Tsessebe and Reedbuck available on or near this area? If not, how feasible would it be to work these two species into the safari? What are the Trophy Fees for these two species in 2019?
Please let us know when you have a chance.
Old thread revival but just noticed that Euro Wings (low cost carrier affiliated with Lufthansa) is starting non-stop seasonal service to Windhoek from Cologne this Summer (July). Really attractive fares +/- $500 from CGN to WDH. They also operate from a few U.S. airports so, depending on...
Some terrific Roan pics. Love the secondary growth on a couple of those mature old bulls.
Roan is the trophy I seek most. Hope to be able to hunt one in a free-range setting someday.
