Maybe Someday Barnes will make it. Sorry this thread went this way. I, like you, have never seen anything like this buffalo's lack of reaction. If you hunt long enough you see stuff! Maybe I missed it but exactly which bullets were used?
Those are both good and I have the same VX6. Don't let people tell you 2x is too much on the low end for buffalo. I shot a charging leopard with mine on 2x and had plenty of field of view. I did a video explaining why you want a more versatile scope than say a 1-5x. You are going from Buffalo to...
Likely that was all the quality ammo they had back then. There were no mono metal bullets that have replaced the solid for certain situations these days.
As far as Sullivan fits into his discussion, he advocates for nothing smaller than a .600 Nitro and call a .577 a minimum caliber for buffalo...
The leopard is the most messed up shot on safari. Way too many PH’s have been mauled from what should have been an easy shot. Solid rest, 80 yards and yet still often times disastrous. You need an accurate rifle with an exceptional scope and a soft bullet.
What scope do you have?
I would advise...
I do not with the exception of the R8. I’ve had too much trouble with them and they are never needed.
Don’t be afraid to try different things and see what works for you.
Awesome! I didn't know you were going to the air show, London, then Lithuania! What a way to start the trip. You might have to tell us more about the air show some time.
We knew it wouldn't last long because Iran was about out of missiles. They called and said how many missiles and when they would launch. Who has ever heard of a war like that?
Glad it's all back to normal. We need all the flights to Africa we can get.
