Question For Our German & Austrian Members

I never had the luxury of having specific animal shape designed target. I stick to geometry shaped targets, I follow the MOA doctrine, and keep shooting. On occasion, I do have roe deer 1:1 size targets, that were proven OK. If I can keep roe deer vital zone accuracy at various distances, most...

If you want to shoot dangerous game..

Shoot him poorly at 100 meters, and have real DG experience. I dont mind shooting at 100 meters. (which actually I did) Stalking in bush, 5 meters visibility, is something I really do not like.

Mine too! I said major defining factor, not the only one. Keep in mind after all, the package is for example "7 days buffalo hunt". @yukonspirit @Tusker Major defining point of a hunt to be successful is actually having opportunity to shoot. In this case, the shot was taken. And opportunity was presented. This goes in favor of outfitter and PH, and brings more scrutiny to hunter. Critical part of dangerous game hunt is a...

Absolutely. Bufffalos passing 100 meters from camp, would apply, I suppose? Lion roar from the bush, in dark night would apply? In Europe, during a hunt, when taking a break, to light a fire to make sausages on stick, or to make cold cuts snack, break action guns are break open, or bolts on...

I wanted to be polite, and did not reply the way you describe. But yes, of course. You are spot on! Brits: they go hunting with rifle in a bag, rifle pulled out when game is spotted. Americans: carry pistols on CCW in condition 1. Different culture, plus laws

Firearms hunting etiquette, or safety depends on where you come from. And where you actually are. In my country, (EU), rifle is empty in car, transported in bag or case empty, unloaded in safe, loaded only in a hunt, or on the range. Besides, that is the local law. No choice But in Africa, if...
