I asked the question about ATN because I have a friend who hunts the Minnesota/Iowa border farmland at night a lot. He knows a fair bit about thermals.
He generally doesn’t give hard and fast opinions about much, but when I asked him about the ATN. He said “hard no.” Way to many quality...
So, as the OP, I did not buy the thermal.
I have spent quite a bit this year on guns, ammo and supplies. So the wallet is pretty skinny. I’ve been planning to get a thermal with Scheels gift cards but my kids feet keep growing and shoes are not cheap.

My brother has that very same rifle.
It does an excellent job of turning prairie dogs and similar small animals into fajita meat. I wouldn’t use it on deer or hogs.
