    Mauser 9.3x62 caliber rifle re-loading

I wonder too. I got 2359 with 62.0 and a Hornady 286, compressed load. I ran out of room at 63 gr, too compressed.

Note that if you have compressed loads with jacketed lead bullets, the Barnes will compress even more, as they are longer for weight. That's why I went with the Swift A-Frames in the 9.3. I normally use Barnes.

Barnes destroy less meat in my experience.

What is the future of American hunters in SA

    Agreed. I would not either.

300 WM Dangerous game calibre rebarrel (Advice Welcome!)

Well then, you have many choices! I would start by finding a reputable, experienced gunsmith, and work out the caliber with him. 416 Rem would be an easy choice, but if the smith could do a Rigby or a Jeffery for the same money, that would be a tough decision for me.

Bottom metal, even used, is hundreds of dollars. https://www.africahunting.com/threads/mauser-98-375-h-h-bottom-metal.92247/ New Blackburn will be $500 US, unfitted, unblued, may or may not fit your stock, action will have to be modified to work with it. It i$ po$$ible, but you will pay for...

Yes magnum bottom metal can be found, but it won't be cheap. You are time and money ahead finding a 375 H&H to start with.

The Lott is based on the 375 H&H. I have a mark X in 375, and the receiver ring was notched for it. I suspect you would need to do the same for a Lott. The bottom metal will be different, too.

    School me on M98 actions

I avoided Mausers for years due to the seemingly loose bolts when open. But then I realized it was designed that way, and ended up forgetting all about it. I expect high-dollar customs and recently made receivers may be less loose, but they are out of my price range.

Agree, easy repair. If the stock is sound and a good fit, just repair it.

You will be time and money ahead buying a rifle already set up for a scope. A husqvarna in 9.3x57 is easily rechambered. One in .30-06 or 8mm is easily rebored. A J.C. Higgins model 50 is easliy rebarreled. Simpsons has huskies.
