    RARE Marlin .410 lever produced 1929 - 1932

You're in Sheridan, I'm just down the road in Cleveland County! Beautiful gun you've got!

    What's your one favorite caliber?

510 Kodiak Express Nothing says fun like nearly 6,000 ft.lbs. coming out of a marlin lever gun! Plus, it's the round that truly got me into big bores and changed the trajectory of my life!

    Desert Eagle .429 DE

The .429 is similar to the 440 corbon, except for the shoulder location and angle. I have a friend that loads for the 440 on a custom marlin 1894, with some heavier bullets. I do know he prefers a 265 gr bullet made by hornaday that gives impressive performance. Not sure on the numbers, but I do...

    585 Hubel Express

I have done my best to hunt down that action, but to no avail. The only thing that would work to keep things in the traditional sense is a custom action or a granite mountain arms action. Lots of options to choose from, but seem to dwindle each day!

    585 Hubel Express

Mine is on the same action as yours, but we are looking at possibly building an action for it, simply due to how much metal has to be removed to make that size cartridge work!

    585 Hubel Express

It certainly is, I'm currently waiting for mine to be finished as well that I bought from a member here. I do have some of the old load data from Ed if you are ever interested in it. He told me that a good 22" barrel should be able to just reach 2800 fps with a 750 gr solid, which is quite the load!

    Rota Cuff

I agree with the above, as an MRI or Ultrasound is needed. One has to figure out what is wrong, before treatment can begin. I will say, I have great success with the majority of my patients who have rotator cuff issues, in which muscles are not completely torn. I am a Chiropractor, so that is...

Need recommendations for Ruger M77 / New Winchester M70 Gunsmith

Malcolm Ballistic Tool Custom Gunsmith, does some fantastic bedding. I personally have Tim and his team work on my rifles all the time, with great confidence!

    50 alaskan

Looking at the ballistics of the old black powder loads for the cartridges commonly used in Africa, it runs slightly faster than the majority of it. Along with a well made bullet, I see no reason why it would not work anywhere on the planet. The technology surrounding firearms and ammunition has...

    50 alaskan

Those loads should handle anything you come across in Alaska. If they do not, then you might be on the wrong planet.

    50 alaskan

Got to play around with a Ben Forkin built 50 Alaskan on a Marlin with a 23.5" barrel. Believe it was shooting a 525 gr lead bullet, that was somewhere around 2,000 fps; needless to say, it was more than adequate for most jobs. It will handle anything on the North American continent and I would...

Hey guys, how's it going? My name is John

Welcome to AH! You can definitely hunt Buffalo with a lever gun, but to be on the safe side look into 50 Alaskan, 45-90, 475 Turnbull, or the 50-110 Winchester with proper bullets. All the best to your dream, be sure to post pictures when it happens!

Why not a Dangerous Game lever?

Sounds like one heck of a setup, have you been out in the field with this one yet? Definitely takes alot to get those levers working properly.

Why not a Dangerous Game lever?

Simply put, the weakest portion of the Marlin design is the threads that connect the barrel to the receiver, if one can allow for better and more even contact of these threads it will allow for higher pressure tolerance. Now, one could perform the other modifications without modifying the...
