"Karamojo" Bell

One of Bell's pen-and-ink map drawings. This one, of the regions he hunted in West Africa, is filled with anecdotes ("Plutocrats of Niger Delta used to decorate their women with necklets of ivory from large-dia. tusks. Force & palm oil were required. Price per pair £40.") and sketches-his steam-powered river launch, the catamaran houseboat, elephants in the swamps.
