I think with the range of shots on offer in NA from long distance shots in the mountains at sheep to close woodland shots at moose and everything in between, I personally would go for a 7mm Rem Mag. Oh I have one! A nice Callum Ferguson example

Just FYI a barrel mounted swivel is not for cosmetic reasons. It is specifically there so in the event you are running and the rifle barrel hits say an overhanging branch it doesn’t rip the stud out of a wooden fore end

Couple of comments
Winchester Silvertip a notoriously shocking round for Africa. Way too soft
The Nosler partitions I have used to a bullet always ended up looking exactly like those in post 2. I considered this a good thing. Big initial wound channel as it separates then a further...
Indeed. In the drawing it’s too high in my opinion and when they look T you as in the drawing down the nose the head is held higher. At least in all the ones I have seen
Detail though and technique is excellent

As an aside have had a lion charge. Was just so stunned I didn’t move.
there is so little time. I reckon you need to have experienced a few before think straight and calm. As tourists we just don’t get used to it like a PH does
I am late to the party and as newbie haven’t read the 10 pages so apologies for any duplicate. But
1. Read Don Heath
2. Let PH deal and be prepared to back him up
3. Take a double first shot 20 yards out
Second shot as close as comfortable and able to jump out way. C 3 yards
never done it...
I buy my subscription for every trip. Thankfully never needed them. But would be intrigued to hear about the experiences of anyone who has. Where were you. How quickly did they arrive. What was the stabilisation care like etc. Of course, you may not remember…..
