    Good African Safari Shirt?

I never saw a whole lot, bunch of ticks though. Was mid August in the Thabazimbi area of Limpopo.

    Good African Safari Shirt?

Of course, answers here are like shu-wee-holes, we all have one. BUT, ya don't need the ultra fancy, high dollar statement attire. Just take our fella hunter, checked bag was lost and he hunted in what he wore on the trip over, fortunately he had a few extra clothes in his carry-on and I was...

    Good African Safari Shirt?

Most all of my attire was Carhartt, 100% cotton and pre-treated with Permethrin, plus a light spray of Deet before heading out each morning. No issues with the insects.

Yeah, most that I know that have them are women folk!! However, saw more than you can shake a stick at while in Japan. Seem to be great little trucks.

Ammo cannot be packed inside luggage?

It was checked twice at Atlanta, once coming back into country and again before leaving for Greensboro. Filed a claim with Delta baggage department, rifle was in my possession in a few hours.

Don't know the first thing about this unit other than it's expensive, looks cool and illegally parked.

Ammo cannot be packed inside luggage?

Hate that you and others have been through difficulties, will happen to all of us sooner or later. My first trip was last August, Greensboro, NC to Atlanta then to Johannesburg. A couple boxes of ammo in a locked case placed in checked bag. No issues here, was figuring that I would be charged...

    Shipping Trophies has Gotten Outlandish

We went last August, trophies arrived mid March of this year, a Waterbuck, Gemsbok and an Impala. Dip and pack was about $600, crate and plane ticket with Turkish Airlines was about $1100 and Coppersmith imports was about $1250. Nothing about an African adventure is going to be cheap.

    Why no 375 RUM?

Very capable lineup these RUMs were, when I purchased mine I was really interested in the .375 but went with the .300 instead. I think the majority of the marketing push was the different power levels Remington offered the ammunition in, at least it was for the .300, which I thought was a great...

When hunting species like zebra or gemsbuck does the sex of the animal matter to hunters?

You will likely have to make that decision on the fly. My Gemsbok was in a small group and they were steadily on the move. Had to make a choice quickly. This female was taken August of 23 with horns a bit over 40".

Your 3 favorite hunting cartridges of all time

Didn't go through all of the posts, but a lot of big calibers have been expressed. For a simple country fella, .22 16 ga 30/30 On my one and only South Africa trip I took my Remington 700 sendero in .300 rum, not a cartridge that would be readily used in my neck of the woods, but nether is a...

    Rolex- the stupidest, lamest company

Bought mine some years ago, a date-just, oyster steel and blue dial. Preparing for 1st Safari

I was part of a group of 4 that went August, 2023. We hunted in the Thabazimbi area of Limpopo, terrain was flat and easy to walk. I'm 54 and the only issue I had was my PH walked too dang fast. Your .300 Win Mag will be plenty, while I took my .300 Remington Ultra Mag, the others took a .308...
