When reading this thread many times have I thought about this book. Some of you may find it an interesting read. Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missile Crises, and Vietnam.
You may find these next couple of pages useful. Many FFL's as their own policy refuse to accept a firearm from a non FFL. The shipping FFL has done the due diligence to determine the ID of the individual that brought the firearm in face to face with proper identification. There is a chance...
The ATF provides the definition of a firearm. If you are the legal owner of a rifle/shotgun you can LEGALLY ship said long gun as long gun USPS providing stipulations are met on the receiving end.
ATFE clearly define what constitutes a firearm which the US Postal Service must adhere to. I am a...
Once you burn up all of your stash of cordite the best option is a generous dose of something slower burning than H4350 to get a better "fill" with that case.
The only Leica products I own are rangefinding binos which I have been most satisfied with over the years with different generations of the Geovid. What I can not understand is when Leica produces a scope with nice physical dimensions in proper power range (the bottom two pictured) for most...
USPS publication 52 chapter 43 pages 99-104 answers all questions about what can, and can not ship legally and by whom with USPS concerning firearms. No ammunition.
The last update I am aware of is August 2017.
The first part they are describing non NFA items which everyone should know. The part about how to describe your "firearm" for a claim is not in the regulations so no way to know if that is in fact, the way to go?
I have only had to file one (thankfully) insurance claim with USPS on a damaged firearm. After initially being denied you will see a portion of the letter that accompanied the payment. Seriously, this is real.
I just checked the Hendershots site and currently A-Frames are not an option in this caliber.
I am a big fan of the Swift A-Frame but their availability has been poor these last few years in many different diameters.
A lot of you guys will remember the Bausch & Lomb Balvar scope that had no adjustments. I use one of these along with an old school bore sighter on any type of base or ring that has adjustment.
Proper shims allow it to be mounted in 26mm or 30mm rings. Once this scope is aligned with the...
The physical dimensions and the magnification range of that scope make it one of the best all around models Leupold has ever made. If Leupold would take the VX-6HD 2-12x42 and put some standard capped turrets and get rid of the golden bling that would be a winner.
I have some Norma 6mm that I could neck up to .257 and that way I can claim that I bought it just for that purpose and maybe no one would think I am the kind of guy that owns a rifle chambered in such a caliber.
The back story on this is that a good friend has recently acquired a beautiful little rifle in 257AI.
The intention was to run some factory stuff through it and load the fire formed brass. I am a fan of Norma brass but I can't remember seeing it sold as a component. I have some Winchester ammo...
It is nice to hear that your Hornet will be back in business! This model Zeiss is going to help the OP with a similar situation. I have always tried to keep one of those laying around just for that reason and will probably wish I had not traded this one off some day.
I have never owned a...
This model Zeiss has 4 inches of eye relief which along with its body length is very forgiving in a lot of mounting situations. The crosshairs on the Zeiss plex are heavier than the Swarovski which is an advantage in my opinion. Depends on your application.
To my knowledge Norma has long since discontinued loading this cartridge. If by chance you know of a stash anywhere for sale or trade, please let me know. Thanks!
A non FFL can ship legally ship a long gun USPS. I ran into a Post Master with close to 40 years on the job that had to be shown in the regulations that this was in fact legal.
A while back UPS announced that they would no longer allow firearms shipments by a non FFL. Not sure about FedEX...
CZ called the pictured stock Spring Camo Laminate. CZ had two other colors of laminate stock available on the American Safari Magnums, Sunset Camo and Brown.
If you do find a supply of 375 Ruger brass please let the members of this forum know where it is after you buy what you need. There are several members on the hunt for it.
