5/8” x 18 is an odd duck- my plan was to get that cut off & have it rethreaded 5/8”x24 along with recrowning by a competent smith- 5/8x 24 has become the more standardized thread pattern for 5/8” muzzle devices. Each additional adapter is another opportunity to cause an issue.

308 Guide Gun. Scope required but we’ve gotten to where we shoot suppressed 99% of the time. Leave as as 30-06 & buy a 338 or 375 guide gun if you need more than a 30-06.

Ignorance. They don’t understand math & sweat spots. Both of my whitetail deer were harvested with 150 grain ELDX bullets out of a 7mm-08 last year. I know it’s blasphemy but I like it better than my same gun in .308. The 7mm-08 just plain kills.

W 7RM is ok as is the 7x57 but both are dated. You’ll find more support with the newer PRC family- that’s just how things are trending. To give perspective, the 300WM factory ammo was once everywhere but I was in a store not too long ago & the 300PRC ammo was there in quantities if not 10:1...

Update- A LH 375 has been sourced. What magnifications are y’all using on these rifles? I’m debating on a 1-6, 1-8, or a 2-10 Trijicon but the 1-8 I was leaning towards has a 34mm tube. Otherwise probably a 2-10x36 Trijicon.

I shot right handed rifles till I was 22. if this guy is serious, look at a LH Ruger American in 7mm-08 or 6.5 Creedmoor. or a Tikka.

We bought one in 308 a few years ago & it’s alright. When it became time for another one I just bought a LH Predator in 7mm-08 straight off GB. I wasn’t fond of the “American” line initially but this one has kind of grown on me. my RH son shooting my Predator LH at the CMP “unknown range.”
