Ok not sure what the big deal with the little Allen key is. You get one with the scope and one with the Custom dial when you order it. I have had one in my wallet on a piece of card stock for going on 4 years now. I also have spares in my range kit and travel kit. To be honest I have 3 rifles...
168gr Barnes TTSX 308 for round and a 10 year old shooter. Gemsbuck and Waterbuck ran and buried themselves under some puckers and needed a follow up, but they were not moving from where they settled. Kudu was a team shoot with him and I.
The 308 will do it’s part if you do yours
I’ll second the 4DeadHold sticks. I bought a set and love them. Trained the grandson on them. They worked very efficiently and effectively for him in Africa
I’ll second Slogan’s. I have one on my 375 and 30-06. Grandson has one on his 308. They “stick” to you like glue. Never fall down, wrap easily around your arm and can be split into back pack carry.
My grandson turned 10 in January, we leave in 21 days for South Africa. My second trip his first. He started shooting squirrels at 6 with a 22. Took his first deer at age 7 with a 308. We shoot Wednesday evenings every week when the weather is decent. Honestly he will shoot better than me most days.
According to what I have been told ALL unfinished trophy’s have to go to USDA approve facility. If you have unfinished primates or swine they have to go in crate separate from all the rest.
Used Africa Sky in 2021, they did permits plus meet and greet. Keep in mind flight landed 4am local time. We were thru customs and SAP and on the road to camp by 4:30 - 4:45. Will be using Africa sky again in April.
I’m in Maine April will be second trip to SA. First trip we flew out of Logan on Qatar. No problems at all with rifles coming or going. Return trip was thru Philly so that was Port of Entry. No problems there either. Pretty painless. Next trip we will fly Qatar again departing and returning thru...
This is my ever vigilant protector!!! As you can see she is hard at work. I really need a shirt that says I am an emotional support hooman for a Great Dane.
If you are going to do a lot of belted magnum reloading i recommend getting one of these https://www.larrywillis.com/Lockstock.html
Seating die I use a Forster Bench rest Micrometer die and a factory crimp die.
I have Barnes for the 375 but just got a box of Swift A frames.
Don’t worry the thrill will be back when you book your second. [emoji23][emoji41] my second has been booked for a little over a year now. Time will stand still for a while then it will go soaring by. Working on getting flights now. Grandson and I hit the range once a week and go hiking at least...
Gave up doing hay about five years ago now. I do miss the big Massey , I’ve still got the Mahindra. It gets used and abused at camp as a woods tractor.
Ok DO NOT walk into the CBP with your rifle in hand!!!!!! Leave them in the vehicle and go in and ask how they would like to handle it. Without speaking to them and walking in with firearms is a Federal Crime!!! 4457 for SA needs to be done in the year of travel, and will only be accepted in...
Flew Qatar last trip 2 years ago. Qatar whole way going over, return was Qatar to PHL then AA to BOS. Never saw any extra fees for rifles or transfer fees — flew cattle class
WTF 2 weeks ago we had double digits below zero and today it’s 56 degrees. Got to love Maine weather. On the good side the boiler won’t be running much today
My son will be flying out of MSP next April for our hunt. Plan right now is to fly Qatar. My grandson and myself will be flying Qatar out of Boston, we should meet up
In Doha is all goes to plan. I flew Qatar April before last and it was great.
I did some further looking into it. There are 2 crews that swap out on a weekly basis. The venture outside on an hourly basis to deice and make sure instruments are working correctly. Here’s an article I was reading about it...
