How effective is the 25-06 with either of these bullets?

Where I hunted in South Africa there were respectable Kudu Bulls on display. Both were taken with a Sako .25-06, both were hunted by a female. It seems the outfitters wife Clare was an expert shot too. On another note there are some restrictions on minimum calibre for certain deer species in...

How effective is the 25-06 with either of these bullets?

I understand the reasoning for taking your own rifle for the experience, the photographs and making memories with your own gear. As for underpants, most safari operators offer daily laundry. Just saying. I put it to the test. We trapped with small back packs in carryon for a 7 day hunt. Hired...

How many people have a 35 whelen?

Class, Classic and Venerable are not words that I have seen describe the Whelen. Perhaps you should be looking for a .375H&H, a true classic.

I came along in the 70’s. 1972, I don’t think Dad needed a licence to get my air rifle around 1980’ I needed a licence in 1990 at 18, I got an SKS and some Norinco ammo. That moved on pretty quick then I had the .222 and was well aware of the .243, .22-250etc. My brother had a .303 and I...

    Hello from Sweden!

G’day from Australia. I would sway toward a 7x57 or 7x64 as I like 7mm calibre. Of course there is also the 6.5x55swede as another popular option.

I cannot show a picture of my favourite outdoor place or location. I have always felt relaxed when I arrived somewhere in the Australian Bush. In total I spent around 8-1/2 years working on national parks where my job was based on a remote park where I stayed onsite while rostered on. 2.5...

1 MOA accuracy less common than you think ?

What distance would do you think the shot could be taken from? Assuming it goes well and you have some sort of vantage point in mind. What’s the minimum calibre or cartridge you would allow a client to use? Are they exportable? I’m not a serious contender but I’m curious about what’s involved.

Agreed, I’m not going hunting in BrownBear territory with a 6.5 Manbun either, and no ballistic tip or mono going to stop a charge.
