Not sure if you were talking to me, but if so.... 59.0 grs of IMR-4064. Getting about 2135 fps out of my 25" barrel, as measured about 10' from the muzzle. Not a max load at all, just a nice sweet spot load.

Yes, I am no Impala expert, but even the PH's were excited about the quality of Impala on the reserve. It was a fun little sideshow to the main event for sure!

Nic was great no doubt. All the PH's with Bayly Sippel Safaris we spent time with were not only enthusiastic hunters and knew their stuff, but fun to be around. Nic being a Model 70 fan helped endear him to us for sure!! Your comment here definitely made me laugh though.

It was warming up when we left. Last day of sightseeing around the reserve and Nic pointed out this Mozambique Spitting Cobra......very dangerous, you go first.... (Nic was amazing in all aspects of the hunt and natural world. Another Ionides when it came to snakes!)

Afton House is a great place to stay and is overlooked. They have great services set up also with firearms permits and meet and greets. I have used them since 2007, and I agree that they have only gotten better. Great write up. Thanks for sharing it.
