Average Shot Range in East Cape SA

S So what bullet weight are you using and what velocity in an 18” barrel?
  17. Mark R

Average Shot Range in East Cape SA

EC could be 20yards in a thick bushy ravine or 400 yards across a valley. If you chop your barrel of your 300WM that short you won’t have the benefit of its velocity, you’ll just have a 30-06 or 308:unsure:

    Favorite animal hunt

For me my favourite hunt was my Canadian moose/elk horseback hunt just south of the Alaska Hwy. It was a dream hunt from a young age and was my biggest outlay for a hunt to that time. Being in Northern BC, being picked up by Super Cub beside the hwy, flown into camp, seeing the wonderful...

    Namibia Taxidermist, Trophaendienste

I personally wouldn’t bother contacting them. Our only dealings with them were less than acceptable. It was downright disheartening and put me off hunting Africa for a bit. Nothing you can say will change my mind. Do yourself a favour and find another taxidermy studio.

SOUTH AFRICA: ZIMBABWE: Mark & Tim's Big Bull Safari With KMG Hunting Safaris

I think they were in the 30lb range. We had to move camps before the animal was cut up. As an Aussie we can’t import any elephant parts so all I wanted was to hunt a mature bull. Did just that.

Hunting with dangerous game cartridges outside of Africa?

If you mean in .375, no. I load the 300gr Hydro or 270gr soft. If I need more knockdown I just up it to 416 or 450 (y)

Hunting with dangerous game cartridges outside of Africa?

We are fortunate here in Oz to have Asiatic buffalo and banteng. I use my 416RM, 375H&H and my VC 450NE on these with Woodleigh bullets.

My Take on Dangerous Game Scopes

I guess it’s all perspective. Seems to me to be a video about pg scopes suitable for dangerous game. Certainly I love my z8 1.7-13.3 scope but I personally would find that scope far too big to place on my 416RM for dangerous game hunting, I would need a gun bearer to carry it. Generally if I...

Canada bans import / export of elephant / rhino ivory (hunt trophies also)

Here in Oz we had a Prime Minister in the 1980’s ban any elephant product from coming into the country. He was going to ‘save the elephant’ All these bans also work for the agenda of removing firearms. The Wokes are winning and we (firearm owners/hunters) will go the way of the dodo.:(
