We had Aurora Australis last night. I took these pics just before daylight this morning.

Is this 2 elephants @ $15k each or 2 for $15k? I wont be doing it but just thought clarification on a great deal or a super great deal.

Bows wouldn’t be an issue. Meat recovery because of location and logistics could well be problematic.

There is also scrub bulls and pigs on Alex’s buff concession. Barramundi and camels are available also with Alex but in other areas he has. The buff concession is remote central Arnhemland…

I got replicas done as we can’t import elephant products into Oz. Mine aren’t a direct mold of my tusks but similar weight and finished to replicate mine from pics.

I have a mate here in Oz that’s also a member on this site, @HRS. Has a ripper lightweight English stalker pattern, good walnut and ships everywhere.

S So what bullet weight are you using and what velocity in an 18” barrel?

EC could be 20yards in a thick bushy ravine or 400 yards across a valley. If you chop your barrel of your 300WM that short you won’t have the benefit of its velocity, you’ll just have a 30-06 or 308:unsure:

I have a Sako AV in 375H&H and a ripper M70 in 416RM. Had a few others of each….

I personally wouldn’t bother contacting them. Our only dealings with them were less than acceptable. It was downright disheartening and put me off hunting Africa for a bit. Nothing you can say will change my mind. Do yourself a favour and find another taxidermy studio.

I was 44yo. Plainsgame in Zim with Lin Stanton. Nothing bites like the African Bug. You’ll be planning your second safari before your first one is done. Enjoy

M70 classics came out before 2007, more like 1990’s.

I think they were in the 30lb range. We had to move camps before the animal was cut up. As an Aussie we can’t import any elephant parts so all I wanted was to hunt a mature bull. Did just that.

Looking forward to your report. It will be a fabulous hunt.

I re-barrelled a M70 from 25-06 to 9.3x62. Never had an issue.

I have hunted Namibia (but not Botswana) and the Eastern Cape. Kowas Safaris for Namib and KMG Safaris for the EC. Can’t get 2 better outfits for serious old hard won trophies (y) Cheers Mark

If you mean in .375, no. I load the 300gr Hydro or 270gr soft. If I need more knockdown I just up it to 416 or 450 (y)

We are fortunate here in Oz to have Asiatic buffalo and banteng. I use my 416RM, 375H&H and my VC 450NE on these with Woodleigh bullets.

I love my 416RM because that’s what I have. Never owned a 458 Lott and don’t see the need. My 450 double works for that.

Here in Oz we had a Prime Minister in the 1980’s ban any elephant product from coming into the country. He was going to ‘save the elephant’ :rolleyes: All these bans also work for the agenda of removing firearms. The Wokes are winning and we (firearm owners/hunters) will go the way of the dodo.:(

I have an improved 280 and though I haven’t used it on plainsgame, I’d have no hesitation on the animals you list.
