Had a good transaction with Never Been-good to work with, appreciated his time.
Also got some books in the mail today from Douglas Johnson, a great find and seamless interaction.
If it was to remember something special about that hunt or special horns-yes I would! Otherwise it would be a euro mount.
There was a hunting video of a cow that when standing her horns dropped clear to the ground-and I’ve seen it other places as well (books, internet maybe)-but if I got a...
I shoot on blm public property and the ar crowd are simply awful. They will unload an old console tv or washing machine, get twenty yards away from it and unload clip after clip into the old appliance. Then they leave without taking the “target” with them.
There are other similar issues...
There is or was a left handed .375 available in the cabelas gun room. It did not have sights hence my question-could they be added. I think it is still available
Looks like you’ve been around for almost a year but welcome and thanks for posting. Eager to see how the rest of your hunt goes! Don is a fun guy to hunt with-knowledgeable and great animal sense
Those personal touches will be up to my brother. It is easy to cerakote the stainless parts to black if he wants and lots of “stock options” available. If it was me I would send it to Accurate Innovations for a good custom walnut stock and would cerakote it. But it is set up for Alaska really...
I did some googling before I expressed interest.
My own experience is that longer barrels CAN produce higher velocity but I have not had chance to tinker with a long barrel in .375 anything. My own .375 wby mag has a shorter barrel and I am certain it “slows me down.” This doesn’t bother me...
I have not owned a browning rifle before. This one will stay tucked away until Christmas and then my brother will have to find a scope for it to his liking. I have ammo and components for it tho, so am eager to see what kind of accuracy we can produce. I loved the longer barrel on it, have...
Might be helpful if you post the “trophy pix” as well so we can see what the animal looked like before shedding its skin. I also thought mule deer cape until I scrutinized the ears
I purchased this rifle with intention of giving it to my brother. The experience was seamless and NeverBeen was very good to work with. Would be happy to purchase from him again or just sit and visit. Great that this site brings people together the way it does.
Tinker around with “Hunter’s Trailhead” and if you do draw a tag check into ONX maps on your phone it is a lifesaver. I have found Wyoming and Nebraska to be very non resident friendly.
But premium tags come at premium cost in dollars and years expended, so best of luck!
Not familiar with your name on this site as your are quite new. Please pm me a pic of yourself holding the rifle. I am interested in buying it for my very left handed brother.
Please include payment options you would accept. Would ship to my ffl at zip code 84660-thx!
Wheatley swing leaf box.
Rabbit hole-I used to raise grey jungle fowl and still have several necks for my own use. They were noisy and could be difficult to propagate but were fascinating to raise-
Knowing the intricacies of those flies makes them true treasures and pieces of art!
You just didn’t mention them was all and hunters perspective is important beyond what the website shows. I keep a list of options for Namibia for future reference and they are in the top three. I have questions written about damara dik dik, Klippspringer and birds. I’ll email them when it...
If I read this correctly you are looking for suggestions. I have hunted with Game4Africa twice and going back next year for number three. I did the South Africa spiral horn slam there which was fun. These are east cape kudu bulls but difficult and fun to hunt just like all kudu. Nice lodge...
What other animals did you see while you were there? I am specifically looking at kudu and Hartmans zebra. Iowa’s is on my short list but I am still making comparisons-
What time is dawn in your country-and who wears a big ass watch (timepiece) to play soccer?! And I don’t think this girl even plays soccer, that ball is sparkly new. . . And why is she topless, is she on the skins team? And why is she pushing her sweats dow. . . Never mind, thank you for the...
Springbok slam is a fun project. Not sure I want to pursue ALL those in your picture but there are some great rugs and pillows waiting to be made in that grouping. Good luck in your search!
Make sure you are prepared to take some other animals when you finally get there-Africa is filled with diversity and beauty, you will have an excellent time-Welcome!
8 week countdown lasts a decade looking forward but in ten weeks you will be wondering how the time went so fast! Glad you are enjoying all the aspects of the adventure, best of luck to your son and his Buffalo journey
These are very good scopes. I have one on a 28 nosler and one on a .300 wm. I use custom turrets on them. Been thinking about buying another but now is not a good time. Hope someone else picks them up and puts them to good use
I’m enjoying your play by play. Really like the concept of your hunt, culling the herd! Congrats on your fine shooting in the wind, hope it continues through the remainder of your adventure
I scheduled my stay at city lodge through gracy travel-their man Bruce is exceptional and the reason I continue to use them. He handles gun permits and guides you to the hotel. City lodge is not fancy, more like generic but is comfortable and close. I ate dinner and breakfast buffet there and...
