I have a Leupold 1.5-4.5 on lever action carbine and it works fine.
My M70 in 375 had a Meopta 1.7-10 because I wanted illumination and the increased magnification for longer shots at smaller plains game. Makes a 375 pretty versatile.
It is very at times to match Weatherby factory velocities with hand loads.
Weatherby( Norma) uses special blends of powder that are not available to hand loaders.
I always had best results using Reloader 22 which is close to Norma MRP.
I have the same rifle, purchased here from a member. I have been delighted with mine in every way.
I believe your buyer will be pleased as well.
Very nice rifle GLWS.
I know a fellow who ordered a new Merkel double in 500 Nitro,he has taken it to Africa and is delighted with the rifle.
I am am absolutely delighted with the Merkel I bought here from @Rare Breed. It's a 470 with upgrades that has been tuned by JJ Perodeau.
I would not hesitate to buy a new...
Where do you buy GS custom bullets?
Looking for a light weight bullet to use in my 9.3x62.
Currently using a 250 grain TSX at 2700 fps but a lighter bullet would have less recoil and a flatter trajectory at normal hunting range.
In preperation for my friend @JHT 's leopard hunt,we shot trapped wild hogs with various 375 bullets.
We tested TSX bullets in 235 grain and 300 grain as well as 300 grain TBBCs.
All of them expanded, exited and killed quickly on hogs from 50 to 175 pounds.
Hard to pick a bullet that won't...
I have a friend who has killed 17 cape buffalo his 9.3x62. Most of them with the 250 grain TSX.
It is certainly capable of all plains game including eland. When I go back to Africa,I'm taking a 9.3x62 as my all around rifle.
I can tell you that I’ve killed well over 100 deer and at least that many hogs with everything from a 243 to a 35 Whelen.
When using cartridges from 25 caliber to 30 caliber, bullet choice was not critical and almost any cup and core bullet worked fine.
I have seen fragile bullets fail in...
I have a good friend who has a short barreled 243 a lot like the one pictured except it is Ruger.
He settled on the 87 grain Hornady for the small bodied costal whitetails that he hunts.
He has been happy with the results. He tried premium 100 grain bullets but they did not expand as well or...
I have not shot a pig outside a trap in a couple of years. It’s easier to catch and kill a whole sounder if they are undisturbed.
But not sure banning hunting is a smart move.
Although you for sure don’t need idiots introducing them into new areas for hunting.
I have caught and killed more...
